View Full Version : MK 40 Opinions..
I'm thinking about an MK 40 as a possible CCW piece...I own a PM 9 and have owned numerous Kahr's...
I want to carry the 40 in a VM II IWB...I love the steel Kahr's and carry my PM9 mostly pocket carry but ocasionaly carry IWB in the Versa Max...
What are some opinions and does anyone carry the MK 40...?? IWB..
Thanks,
tonys

I have a MK40 and I carry it IWB.
I carry in either a Don Hume IWB or a Tucker Gunleather Coverup Plus. The Coverup Plus is tuckable. Both are reinforced to allow easier re holstering. The Don Hume is thinner.
I recommend a good gunbelt. I use a 1.5 in. Beltman belt.
The MK40 is a well made, reliable firearm. Any problems I have had were either self induced or solved by a new recoil spring.
The recoil spring was supplied by Kahr at no charge.
I do have one 6 round mag that fails to lock the slide back when empty. However I have 3 5 round mags and 2 more 6 round mags, so I have not addressed this issue with Kahr yet. I have delegated this to a range mag at this time.
I also own a P40 Covert, however it is not broke in yet and is at Kahr for repair. I will not carry a firearm that I do not know is reliable.
I have one. It carries great on the belt....except there ain't much to grab for a grip. If you can deal with that then you should be fine. I want a K40 covert, all the perks you need. No hassles with the slide or springs.
Thats it on my left in a ctac. All day carry w/ no complaints.
