View Full Version : I think a mistake was made

I went to my local gun shop today and purchased a brand new set of Truglo TFO night sights. I bought them and they installed them for free. When they told me the total it was only $55. How can that be? I asked them twice if they made a mistake (because the lowest price I have seen is $98) but they said that was the correct price.
I normally shop at this gun shop because their prices are so low, but holy cow. How could they sell me these for such a low price?
Should I call tomorrow to check again? I hate to take money from a locally owned shop, especially since I buy most of my supplies from there (except ammo).

You asked twice bro you are in the clear, if you never asked I'd say that was wrong. Maybe they just have a policy to install night sights for free to good customers.

Post or pm me the name and location of that shop. I have 3 glocks and a sig that need new night sights.

Had a similar experience last year at Gander Mountain. Was walking around with my wife looking for a gift for my father-in-law and of course had to drop by the firearms dept. Sitting in the case was a brand-new stainless P226 9mm tagged at $599! I asked the guy behind the counter to check the price...he confirmed it. I asked a second time...he went to the computer and ran the tag again....and confirmed it. So...I bought it on the spot!
Came to find out days later that the tag had been for a Sig Pro! Fortunately for me...someone up there didn't know their Sigs, allowing me to get a $900 gun for $600!
I asked....twice....so I don't feel like I took advantage of them. Besides, at the prices GM sells its stuff for, they'll recoup that hit pretty quick!

Sounds like the clerk mixed up the TFOs with their regular FO set which cost about $55. If you have both front and rear sights in green and they glow at night you got the TFOs. If, however, you've got a red front sight, they aren't tritium, just FO, and they won't glow at night
Yes they are the TFO's. I knew it as soon as they installed them, because that is what I asked for. I couldn't believe it. I thought they were able to get them at some really low price or something but obviously they made a mistake. Guess I will chalk this one up to good luck.
I guess I will take the extra $60 I was planning on spending and buy a couple more mags.

If your conscience bothers you, buy the mags from the same shop....and hope the owner doesn't read Glock Talk!

If I'm not mistaken, I think the TruGlo TFO night sights are around $50 - $60 at wholesale cost. If you purchased the Glock from them, maybe it's just their way of saying thanks for being a regular customer?
Since they're probably not out any money from the deal, just take the $60 you saved and buy some magazines and ammo from them.

You are probably right. I usually do buy all of my stuff from them, but that just sealed the deal. It is well worth the extra drive for the good customer service and prices.
The sad part is there is a gun shop not even 3 minutes down the road from me, but I won't shop there because they 1: Act like since I am still pretty young that I don't know anything about guns
2: Don't allow firearms in their store (still haven't figured that one out)
