New MK40

Just picked it up and won't be able to go to the range for a week or so.
Yes, it is a pretty design, but one thing I noticed out of the box was the "little details." Or shall I say, "lack there of." Looking at it you can actually see the stock it was milled from. The underside even has milling marks. Polish isn't even. And #$%@# sights look uneven. WTF is $700 that I don't have anyways!?
I don't carry, but I can't see how you can put that thing in jean pockets.... still is huge (like a gun). But then again, I am kinda scrawny. I am determined to like this gun.... grrrr...
Alas, all hope is not dashed quite yet... to the range, to the range....

Get new grips the stock ones suck. The gun likes to move around if you don't put a death grip on it when you shoot.

The PM are more geared for pocket carry. Most (including myself) carry the MKs IWB. I use Comptac's CTAC.

I didn't know that. I thought since the dimensions were the same, it was the same. Anyways, I probably would have gone with PM but the reputation is a bit tarnished... I didn't want to deal with that.

The PM9 is lighter, which makes it more comfortable in the pocket for most people, but it is the same size.

Personally, I like jean pocket carry with my MK9 because it keeps the pistol closer to my leg than, say, Dockers, or certainly shorts. The pistol doesn't swing around when I move. A smooth draw takes more practice, though.

Feels pretty massive, but just looks like a wallet. Noone notices.

MK9 is made for pocket carry! I carry mine everyday that way. If I ned a belt gun, I'll carry something larger - G26, G19 etc.

The MK9 is not bad at all - a bit heavy, but a good holster (I use a Desantis Nemesis) mitigates that little issue quite well.

At least for me that is how it has worked out. I would love to get an MK40 next!
