I guess that's an advertisement for Pennsylvania EMS?
Interesting.
Neat site. Too bad other states don't have sites like this. I would like to find job listings more local to my own area.
No doctors.
No hospitals.
No time to loose.
Also, no BSI(Got BBP?). Stooping over the gurney, just begging for a back injury. Poor paddle placemet. Horrible use of a BVM (It's not a handle there sweetheart.) Patient improperly placed on the backboard.
I can imagine that you would have your heart in your throat if this is what your training entails, because you wouldn't know WTF you are doing out there.
Worst of all is the blatant promotion of "siren syndrome"- driving code 3-balls to the wall-music blaring BS is just begging for some new PA medic to wad up a medic unit.
Sure, I can understand the need to launch a recruiting campaign to solve a staffing issue, but I don't think that this is a responsible approach. If there is a high turnover rate, then how about explaining to potential EMS personnel that a vast majority of calls are not cardiac arrest or MVAs or other "glorious" calls. That would weed out the glory-hound hero wannabes before they could even get started down a misrepresented path.
Sorry about the rant, but I often see these expectations of grandeur dashed on the way to a frequent flyer, or after seeing a few dead people. A more realistic and responsible approach is needed IMO.

Care to elaborate?
Just seemed to be an odd recruitment video. It didn't seem to serve the purpose that they wanted it to. I think they are sending the wrong message with this kind of ad campaign.

kinda reminds me of the current navy videos where they got godsmack to play while showing the more intense part of the job.
