I bought a Leapers Swatforce 40mm red-dot scope for my Hi-point 995 carbine.
Is the red dot in the scope suppose to be a perfect round red dot? My dot looks somewhat blury, kinda like a jelly bean at times..
Defective?
It's probably just "low quality".Not that that's bad in my opinion.I've had several "low quality" red dots and none have failed me.I currently have a BSA 30MM red dot that I use on one of ARs.Works great, very accurate.Holds "zero" when I remove and install. It too will look blury.Usually when I have it turned up too high.Try turning it down a few notches.I can not justify spending more than about $70.00 on a red dot.It just isn't worth it.If my "cheapy" ever dies (unlikely) I'll toss it in the trash and buy a new one.No biggy. If I had a $400.00 unit and it died the manufacturer BETTER give me 2 new ones.So when the next died I'd have a spare to use while they replaced the other. For that kind of cash it better have an unconditional life time warranty. If not, they can keep it.

I bought a Swat Force a year or so ago for an AK. Looked nice for an el cheapo scope. First time to the range the lens covers fell off. It wouldn't hold zero at all. I had taken off a $30.00 BSA that worked perfect as it didn't look as cool. That BSA went back on and the Swat Force went back. As far as the shape of the dot, I didn't own mine long enough to notice.
