View Full Version : Opinions on PC-4 Carbine
I'm thinking about picking up a PC-4 .40 carbine. I really don't know that much about them, other than people seem to like them...and the price is right. Anyone have any experience with them? What kind of accurate range can you get out of a pistol ammo carbine/ I'm assuming it should be fine at 50yds...what about beyond that?
Also, I've seen the PC in both wood and synthetic stocks. I'm leaning toward wood, but is there a big weight difference/
Thanx/
I have one, with a synthetic stock (I've never seen a wood stock, do you have pictures?)
I haven't had it long, but I like it so far. The furthest I've shot it is 50 yards, and I could consistently hit a paper plate at that distance. I'm guessing here, but I'd say the groups were about 5" or 6" when I was trying (and I wasn't trying that hard). I have the ghost ring sights, I would recommend them if they're an option.
The gun is a blast at the range. Mine works flawlessly. I'll be trying it with a scope when I get a good weather day. If I remember, I'll post the results.

Would you say that it's useful as a hunting tool? Or is it strictly defensive in nature?
I've thought about one - like the price & the compatability with a pistol. But I just have no reason to get a defensive-use-only rifle right now.

You could probably make a 75-100 yd deer gun out of it. Could even surpass the .223
I'm considering using it for coyote hunting. We have a pack or two of "urban" coyotes, I see them in my yard all the time. A 50 - 75 yard shot should be easy if I'm patient. Hell, I was close enough to one last year that if I'd had anything better than my kel-tec p3at in my pocket I'd have taken the shot.
My area is a mix of fields, woods and houses - Enough of the latter that I don't want to use a real rifle cartridge. I think the .40 should work nicely under 100 yards.
