I had some trouble putting the slide back onto the frame after cleaning today. Even though I've put my Kahr together a hundred times, it didn't seem to want to go today. I thought that perhaps I had the recoil spring in the wrong direction and so reversed it and slid the slide back on. Now the slide is stuck and I cannot remove it (turns out I had the recoil spring right the first time). Any tips on removing it, or will I have to send this back? Thanks.

Describe "stuck" for us. Is it stuck in the sense that you cannot move the slide rearward, or that you cannot get it to go forward into battery.

This problem was described in another thread sometime ago when someone put the recoil spring in backwards. You may find the answer by searching...
Are you familiar with removing/replacing the slide on a Kahr? Do you know that the trigger must be pulled?

This is what it looks like. In the uncocked state, it looks normal except the recoil spring guide rod sticks out the front by about 3 mm. I can only bring the slide back 1 inch which will cock the striker and I can return the slide almost to its full forward position. When I pull the trigger, it returns the 1 mm to full forward.
Yes, I know that the trigger must be pulled when removing/replacing the slide. It just did not work this last time so I thought I had my recoil spring reversed. I changed the direction of the spring which put me in my current predicament. I had also searched and manually gone through the thread topics over at least the past year. Although this came up, there was nothing mentioned about what was done for it. Thanks.

I decided to just use some force on this. I covered the rear of the slide with a towel to protect it and struck it several times with a hammer. This got the slide back off. The reversed recoil spring was opened up widely at the end, which I think caused it to bind up and prevent me from removing the slide. Luckily I had an extra recoil spring so I replaced it and reassembled the gun. I'll have to take it back to the range soon to ensure that it still functions well.
