Just curious. I know the finish isnt as durable as the P99's. Any other gripes ?

I believe it is similiar to the Quick action Walthers. I do not like the heavier trigger pulls - I prefer the standard DA/AS of the SW99/Walther A/S.
I have a SW99. I actually find that the S&W finish is better than the Walther. The Walther has tennifer, but the outer black coating on the Walthers are not as durable as a Glock's is.
I really like my SW99, and I recommend it. If you like the trigger of the SW990L, then it is a good gun..
Can the 990's trigger be reduced in pull weight ?

No, I do not believe so. It is Walther's version of the Glock, with a bit heavier trigger. I personally do not like it. I love the SA trigger on my SW99/P99 - that's what makes the gun so good.
U should still be able to find a SW99 if you look hard enough. The slide on the Walther looks a bit cooler, but I actually prefer the S&W version.
Nevermind on the 990.
I think I have a deal made for a Walther P99 with the QPQ finish or whatever its called. It's one of the all German guns. Only down side it has 10 round mags, and is a 9mm, but I'll get used to it and get some Double Tap Ammo. Im trading my G32 off, she will be missed, but I LOOOOVE those Walther's *drool*.

Well, U can still buy 15 and 16 rd mags. If U find 16 rounders, get the, quick. They are no longer made - they only make the 15 round mags now.
I have a compact Walther, and I like it a lot. I wanted a full size one in OD Green, but had no luck in getting ANY full size 9mm Walther in the A/S trigger. I finally got the S&W one at an awesome price. AFter having it for a while now, I am happy with it. I liked the thumb rest area on the S&W better than on the Walther. They are basically the same gun, but there are some minor differences.
