New to Kahr, couple of questions.

Hi all, I got a PM9 for my wife to carry and she loves it. It was slightly used, but put over 150rds downrange without a hitch. It has factory conventional sights, and shoots about 5" high at 10yds. Doesnt matter who it shooting it. Seems to be a really nice weapon, the trigger pull cant be beat and its reasonably accurate otherwise.

The top of the barrel hood is not flush with the top of the slide when the gun is assembled. It is about 1/16" low, unlike my Glocks and Kel-tecs. Is that normal for a Kahr, or could that be the reason it shoots high? (barrel lug slightly out of spec)

Also the hole in the front of the slide where to barrel passes through is very out of round. Is that normal. I can post pics if that would be helpful.

Thanks for any insight you can provide. I may go down to the dealer and look at a new one for comparison.

Both are normal.

Mine was shooting high until I stopped using the "i" to aim with & began lining the flat top of the rear sights up with the top of the front sight. Problem solved.

Otherwise, I'd aim lower. ;)

That might work if its the only handgun you own, but I shoot glocks all the time. I dont want to adjust my point of aim to the stomach in order to hit COM either. That would re-train me, causing my glocks and Kel-tecs to shoot low. Not worth it IMO. Its my wife's carry gun anyway, so I will see if she can live with it shooting high. Shots aimed at COM go into the neck area or over the shoulder of the target. I dont find that to be acceptable, especially for such an expensive weapon. Even my cheap little P3ATs hit at point of aim.

I dont like the idea of filing the rear sight either. This will only make the notch shorter and harder to see. I bet Kahr knows about this problem, but it was too expensive to fix it properly so they left it alone.
