View Full Version : Do Kahr wood grips add much thickness to the grips.
Thinking about getting the Kahr checkered wood grips for my MK9 and am wondering if they are thicker than the standard black (nylon I think) grips that came with the gun.
Thanks,

Yes they are thicker. I do not have mine in front of me but I would guess they add about 3/8 to 1/2 of thickness to the overall grip.
I can say that if you had an issue with your thumb contacting the slide stop while shooting, then with wood grips it should not be an issue.
I prefer the Smooth grips over the Checkered.
Good Luck.

Just a little bit thicker but not too much. I ordered the checkered because I had smooth ones on another gun. I prefer the smooth ones better. The checkered ones scratch real easy - Just letting you know. I definetely like them better than the stock ones though!
I brought a pair for my mk9 elite and there is no differents that i could tell, They are pretty nice.
