View Full Version : new crimson trace for glocks MAKEMINEA30 12-22-2005, 00:04 any thoughts on crimson traces new model for glocks vs lasermax? www.crimsontrace.com (http://) T. Harless 12-22-2005, 00:23 I can only say that I shot a guy's S/W with the Crimson Trace and it kicked arse big time. I also get to shoot a best buds G23 with a Lasermax a bunch and it kicks arse too. The CT was brighter in daylight, the LM is totally internal. I'm waiting on some review/intel. Cmoosh 12-22-2005, 00:47 same here, can't wait for that review whenever it comes out Hickeroar 12-22-2005, 00:52 To me, the LM makes more sense, but i'll have to read a review of the CM before i "decide." The LM's placement is really more accurate than the CM's would be i'd imagine. T. Harless The CT is adjustable, the LM is not. Imagining doesn't make it so. you may be right. :-P The problem is that the CM is on the side. If you adjust it to the right or left, it will adjust more and more to that direction depending on how far away the range of the intended object is. Accurate at 5yds might be 6 inches left at 15yds... MAKEMINEA30 12-22-2005, 01:13 external just seems better to me as far as altering the gun.....and also wear and tear on the laser max seems like it would be more. thanks everyone for your responses I really enjoy this forum T. It's cost is half, or more, of a new Glock. I am saying, and all I'm saying, is that the CT is adjustable and the LM is not. inkedupinva 12-22-2005, 09:26 I have played with both and i think it just comes down to personal preferance the were both very cool. that said they were also both expensive so i dont no if i could justify buying either one. IMHO;f ;a Bear Rider 12-22-2005, 15:53 Hickeroar, I have a set of CTs on my 1911. What I did was to sight it in with the point of impact about 1/2" - 5/8" inch to the left of the beam, effectively making the beam parallel to the bore in the x axis. I'll settle for being a half inch to the left at 70 yards. ;f JR 12-22-2005, 17:59 If you could find a dealer that has both the Lasermax and Crimson Trace on the same gun you would be able to evaluate which one is best for your applications. Both are great choices, have specific advantages over the other, have excellent factory support. I never had a problem with the laser beams going out of sight on either model. They both function well at 15 feet to 20 yards. BTW: We have all the Glock Lasermax in stock & ready to go. We also have the Crimson trace G17 & G19 shipping now. vanRichten 12-22-2005, 18:08 I need to try a CT sometime or another. I have a LM on my G36 and while I truly love having it internal I REALLY hate the pulsing beam. I find myself not using it more than using it which is a shame for what I spent for the d*mn thing. ;Q JR 12-22-2005, 18:28 Vanrichten; I talked with the guys at CT regarding the G36. It will be awhile before that happens. Until that actually happens the lasermax is the best bet for the G36 vanRichten 12-22-2005, 18:37 Yeah, that little bugger is always the last for the fun toys ;) I put GL22 on my G22... might get a CT for my 17 just to round out the package... Of course I should sell the GL22 AND the LM and get a G21. That sounds like the best plan to me. ;e Blacklabelglock 12-22-2005, 19:27 I would love to get one but call me cheep, I just cant justify the price. Those things just seem a little to high priced for me. I still can not belive it cost them that much to make. NotWithoutMyGun 12-22-2005, 20:48 I held the LM on a 23 and I didn't like the feel of it. I also found the laser switch to be very picky with your grip. It didn't activate all the time. mballai 12-22-2005, 21:12 Really liked the CT one we had in our shop. Adds roughly $200 to the cost of the gun. I could see having one. Something about that little red dot on your chest is mighty persuasive!! miwall 12-24-2005, 17:26 I purchased the new CT for my G-19. It fit really well and went on very easy and quickly. I haven't tried it out at the range, but it came dead on with my night sights. They are factory preset at 20 ft or so and like I said they look good to go. I purchased them at Lone Wolf for 250. Merry CHRISTmas to me! Until that actually happens the lasermax is the best bet for the G36 The word I got from CT was more like "no plans at this time" and "might" for the G36. I was hoping there might be one close enough in size that I could custom fit one, but I don't know the Glock dimensions well enough to venture the cash. I want something that is grip activated so that leaves the LAW-17 for my G36. vBulletin® v3.7.3, Copyright ©2000-2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd. | ![]() |
