You guys reckon this stuff is as good as the packaged stuff?
It looks like a pretty nice price but Im a little leary of it being packaged loose.

Also looking at:
High Quality .223 62grn M855 Ball ammunition Manufactured in 1999-2003 by Adcom Manufacturing for Military Contract. Brass Case, Boxer Primed, and Non-corrosive featuring a 62grn steel core FMJ Bullet.
I did not realize M855 was steel cored, or is this something different?
Thanks, FH

Fontana,
M855 is steel cored, but that is an import ammo made in the United Arab Emerites. Interestingly, in reading the reveiw for this ammo on AR15.com, seems the vast majority of folks who have a problem with this ammo use a gun that is not factory.. I'd use this stuff over the Lake City XM855PD any day of the week though. Heard of enough squib loads in it to steer me away.
XM855/193 is already QC rejects. The military has strict controls over QC, and if one lot fails in a small way, the entire lot fails. Since this product meets all comercial guidelines for safe ammo, it is boxed up and sold as XM855/193.
XM855PD(or XM193PD) is generally of a lower quality than the XM855. Each round that comes in a PD bulk bag should be hand inspected for large dents, splint necks, bulged necks, bullet setback, loose bullets, and heck, while you're at it, shake it listen for powder. There have been several reports of squibs with the the PD bulk bags.
As some have said.. the price difference is not really worth it, considering there are still places online that sell Winchester Q3131 and XM193 from $200-220, so. YMMV

Thanks for the info,
That was what I thought but not sure.
Not really looking for SHTF ammo, just good cheap brass so I can reload to my specs. Don't want dented/abused brass.
Thnx again, FH

The XM193PD (A223LC Federal Lake City .223 SS109) is not good stuff. I'd avoid it, but if you do purchase some, make sure to hand inspect each round.
I won't bore you with stories of pretzel suppositories.

LOL...Been there, done that. Thanks, FH

I'm crossing my fingers that eventually the Adcom stuff will pan out and become good eventually... Spending more than $200 per 1000 rounds makes me cringe for some reason. If you got the cash to spend, I'd consider getting a case of 500 rounds for giggles. I got one and each round seems usable, but as always YMMV.
Researching the company, this stuff was not really surplused so much as it was sold off to help "expand" their market. I get the impression that they will start heavily importing this stuff NEW soon.
I've see the Adcom 9x19mm on Ammunition Store... tempted to buy a case to see if it's nato pressure or not. If it is, be $30 cheaper than the last case of Winchester 9x19 NATO I bought.. though I'd still take the Winchester for SHTF.

What do you guys think of Olympic 5.56 ammo?
What does YMMV mean?

What does YMMV mean? Never tried it, but have heard a few folks say they weren't very impressed by it.

It is by far the worst as far as reputation goes. More people prefer Wolf to Olympic if you look on ar15.com

For ammo reviews..
Due to the large amount of Wolf hatred on AR15.com, I would write off at least half of the negative votes as just being pure ammo snobs that've never used it.
Olympic is utter crap. Never used their .223, but the 7.62x54, 7.62x39, and 30.06 is terrible ammunition, surplus stuff is cleaner, more consistant, accurate and cheaper than this crap.

Olympic is garbage. Not many will disagree.
Some people have had luck with the UAE stuff, I had 100% function but a large number of pierced primers using it in an unmolested Colt LE carbine - so I'll finish what I have and not use it again.
The UAE (Adcom) 9mm ammo worked fine in my Glock and Kahr pistols, though, with no issues at all.

I haven't had any problems so far with the 250 (out of 1000) rounds I've shot. I did notice some of them though that have small dents in the brass. So far I haven't used any of them (not many, maybe 10, and they aren't very noticable). Would these be safe to use?

Small dents are no big deal.
Here's some pics and captions from the ammo oracle.

"AR15.com user Greenhorn found this round shipped in a new box.
The damage on the neck of the case probably makes this dangerous to fire."
