Recently had DP ADjustable target sights with FO front installed on my 34. Need to go to range and do some sighting in. Relative to sighting in, I have two questions: there is no indication in the DP instructions of how much to turn the elevation and windage screws for a given amount of down range correction; any idea what a quarter turn equates to on the target? Also, what is the best distance to sight in at considering I plan to do various IPSC/IPDA/steel events (eg 25, 35, 50 yds)???
Thanks,
Doug
I too just had a set of DP adjustable FO sights placed on my G34. I did not find instructions for clicks/distance, but it was trial and error. I go to the range, get a small group, then adjust fire. If I can get a 2" to a 2.5" group, I start adjusting. I always try to sight my sights at 20 yards for POA/POI. For me, that covers most of the IPSC/IDPA/GSSF/Action shooting scenarios including plates, with slightly different POA for longer distances.
Unfortunately for me this time, my POI is high when the rear is at bottom - even at 10 yards. The front sight is not tall enough. I'm awaiting an answer from DP about getting a slightly taller front sight.
It also calls for a different holster for me because of the tall sights.

Well I went to the range this morning and had a hard time adjusting the DP sights for 25 yds, they were way off. Compounding the situation, I have never fired from a rest before and found that I could not get a decent group. This seems strange to me, as shooting freehand at 15 yds with the stock glock sights, I usually can get a pretty good group. My blade is also all the way down at the very bottom at this point, so I am wondering if I will have the same problem as you.
Also, with the Dawson FO, I am assuming that you want the center of the target to be sitting on top of the front sight versus on center with the red FO dot????
I am going to head back to the range tomorrow and try again, also from some closer distances.
