Found this on another board:

I think it looks damn good. I'll be impressed if they have the balls to produce it.

I think the Mustang's sales might have convinced them that the whole retro thing works. Here's to hoping it does come out.;V

I like it so much that I might jump ship and get it. 4.6 vs 8.1, I am seriously thinking about it.

Doesn't look too bad if you don't mind being called Beau or Luke as your driving down the road.;f

That car is hot. But if they want that much they can keep it.

Man its a good time to be a gear head! Sure makes up for the early 80's.

The showcar weighs 4160lbs.
If the production version weighs that much
they can keep it.

Crap, who knows how much gas is gonna cost by the time
that thing comes out. . .

I don't care about the weight. A co-worker has a '06 Magnum that tips the scales at 4300lbs and it gets 25mpg with the 5.7. Gotta love that MDS!!! ;f

That MDS is now available in the Durango with the 5.7 as well.

Whenever I hear other guys talking about how hot some new car or truck is, I think "that thing isn't CRAP compared to what they made back in the day." If they make that Challenger, it will actually be better than the old 'Cudas and Challengers. I like the reliability/driveability of the new stuff better than any old tank, and this will have the old school gonads with contemporary driveability. Of course, I'll have to wait until the used ones with few options come down into my price range before I can get one...

Well, maybe, until the first turn anyway.

They will probably keep the prices down to compete with the Mustang. 19-21k for the V6, 25-30k for the 5.7 hemi, and 33-36k for the SRT-8.

That would be my guess.

The car is pretty cool, but I wouldnt count on them putting the car into production. Dodge always comes out with great concept cars. The SRT version will be high 30's low 40's, the srt10 truck is like 50k.

With the success of the retros, Pontiac has to be kicking themselves for introducing a GTO that looks like a Bonnevile that looks like a Grand Am that looks like every thing else they make.

I've heard the GTO has a great drive train, too bad about the body.

Drive train yes, platform, no.

The GTO is an American style drivetrain in an older Austrailian market chasis. Even when they first came out I heard people saying it didn't "feel" new.

Don't worry, Chevy already has a retro Camero concept. Although I don't think it looks as good as the stang or challenger.

The new camero concept:

Looks like a redo of the Cadillac sports car with a touch of a Dodge Viper. They would be better off starting with the 68 or 69 Camaro. Give me a 4 seat convertible and I'd buy that.

If the production model looks exactly, or at least 90% like that, I'll buy it. My only requirement is that it packs a Hemi (which I know it wil, so...;f ) and that it comes with a 6-Speed manual transmission with O/D STANDARD and not optional like on the GTO (a.k.a. Over-glorified Grand Prix).

I am choosing between an 06 Mustang Cobra, an 06 Dodge Charger R/T and the new 06 Challenger as my next car.

I wonder how soon it will be available in convertible? I will purchase one when it comes in topless and hemi powered. I prefer sublime and black.

Looks can be deceiving. I work for a rental car company. When we got in the Magnums and Chargers we were very excited...then we drove them. What a let-down. Not comfortable, controls in weird places (what's up with that "cruise-control stick thingy?), insturmentation blocked by a steering wheel that lacks enough adjustment, and lots of blindspots.

However, are beautifully "mean" looking. Really like the big tires. Anyway, just drive one before you sink your money.

Are you sure about those mpg figures?

If that is the case then things are really looking up for the v8 world!
