RayB 12-23-2005, 11:05 Sounds like you're looking for a bargain! And who isn't? This time of year, hit the stores and shop! As an added bonus--and kindness--you can be spared the mall scene... ;P Sam's Club has Luxeon (currently the brightest series of LED) flashlights, packaged in pairs, large and small, of metal construction, merchandised as gift ideas. True Value and Ace will have Maglite gift packs, again, merchandised on speed-tables and end caps... Home Depot, same deal--plumbers and electricians depend on quality flashlights almost daily. Auto parts and even BatteriesPlus! stores, same deal... Wholesale electrical supplies--same deal. On Line? C. Crane Company: http://www.ccrane.com/lights/index.aspx MidwayUSA: http://www.midwayusa.com/ I've had great service from both of the above-mentioned sources! --Ray TimP 12-23-2005, 21:06 www.digilightusa.com www.surefire.com The G2 .45MoonClip 12-23-2005, 21:28 I picked up a Dorcy L.E.D. at Walmart for @ $18.00. It uses 3 AAA batteries and is almost as bright as my Surefire. I also have a Brinkman, also from Walmart, that uses the same lithium battery and bulb as my Surefire and is just as bright. It was about the same price as the Dorcy. (My buddy bought one first and I call it a 'Dork-ey') Yodeling Monkey 12-23-2005, 22:50 I have to agree with the brinkman from wal-mart, great little light for the price. I would also rec inova led lights, I have two. x03 great light but it's a twist switch for constant on, or press the back for quick on/offs. t2 just got it today and so far love it, click on/off, nice and bright, and approx 5hrs off a set of batts. These can be bought on ebay for $40. Oh yea, first post here, thanks for all the info so far. Someday NJ will give me my permit and I will have a g19. kwando 12-24-2005, 00:10 nuwai Q3 for led and brinkman maxfire for incan mrwiggins 12-24-2005, 00:16 i'm in the market for a good flashlight myself. i have had some good suggestions, but havn't found what i want yet. i'm thinking a metal, LED flashlight, about 3-5 led bulbs, about the size of a mini maglight. ShipWreck 12-24-2005, 09:46 I saw a 4 LED bulb yesterday at Academy - the packaging allowed you to urn it on to try. I didn't think it was broight enough. I second the Brinkman at Walmart - about $20. ALMOST as bright as my Streamlight Scorpion light that is $36-$40. I bought a Brinkman to keep in the Kitchen because I got tired of going to the bedroom all the time to grab my Scorpion by the bed. The Brinkman has 2 lithium batteries, and is a great deal. USMC06 12-24-2005, 10:35 I second the Brinkman from Wal-Mart. Great little bright flashlight. Another consideration is the Surefire G2 for about $34. I have both. HELP!@@ JAYFARMLAW 12-30-2005, 11:50 For $20 it is hard to beat the Brinkman. The batteries are expensive but they can be bought online reasonably. Good luck Jay Greenbean 12-30-2005, 13:22 depending on ur budget...I ended up asking my g/f for a Poly-Stinger for Xmas and she got me one. Was 99.00 at a local Batteries-Plus store and I actually love it b/c I had researched its size and power...Added bonus is the Poly looks lie the frame of my 30 so they are very happy together. But I have seen them on e-bay for less than 75.00 sometimes. patman 12-30-2005, 13:30 The Stingers too big.I want a light I can mount on my AR15. Good luck Jay I agree w/ you. He can have his preference, and has a right to say so (and to say he doesn't like a certain item). But to say it is a POS is ridiculous. ibontop 12-30-2005, 21:22 http://www.axshop.com/details.aspx/sku-1262/ 180 lumen led,,, 7 watt luxeon. 26 shipped ( ok, I have opened myself up to a ripping from the handheld torch crowd for suggesting a inexpensive uncertified by candlepower forums folks light) DANGELO 12-30-2005, 22:01 Just bite the bullet, and pickup a G2 Nitrolon by Surefire. I have three now. Get extra batteries RIGHT from SUREFIRE, though. Nice Deal. It's really bright with a good spot to it. Here's the best part it's $10! Get a couple for what you would spend on a Surefire. Regards, Norman Thanks for the info :) hunter144 12-31-2005, 23:23 Sam's Club had a package of two Cyclop flashlights for $20. The are rated at 65 lumens and compare well with my Surefire. They were also advertised in one of the gun magazines last month. patman 12-31-2005, 23:42 I think I'm gonna get one of those Golston things.Nice touch having it on in a glass of water.:) chevrofreak 01-01-2006, 08:59 Originally posted by ibontop http://www.axshop.com/details.aspx/sku-1262/ 180 lumen led,,, 7 watt luxeon. 26 shipped ( ok, I have opened myself up to a ripping from the handheld torch crowd for suggesting a inexpensive uncertified by candlepower forums folks light) The truth is nobody really know anything about that light. There are no 7w LED's from Lumileds, but some Luxeon V's can be driven at 7 watts. This unfortunately is not a Luxeon V as the die is Luxeon I and III sized. The most a Luxeon III can be driven at it something like 4.25 watts, with a very short lifespan. I've seen pictures of the LED these have in them and it looks to me like real Lumileds star PCB, with a clone emitter soldered to it. If this were a real Lumileds LED, then the LED alone would be worth more than the entire flashlight is selling for. chevrofreak 01-01-2006, 09:08 Originally posted by hiflyer Hi, I found the perfect small LED flashlight at Target a RIVER ROCK LED FLASHLIGHT uses 2AAA and has a Nichia LED and a boost circuit. Regards, Norman They're a decent light for the money, but certainly not as bright as a surefire, and definately not the quality. bunchok 01-01-2006, 11:32 I have a Nuwai 3 watt LED that cost $32, and has worked great so far.
