View Full Version : B West AK Sidefolder
I recently acquire a B West Side Folder AKS. It has B West China on the bottom of the reciever. It is one of the rifles that there were problems with the heat treating?
What is the going rate for a rifle such as this in like new conidition?
Thanks

B-West AKS sidefolder is a nice pre-1989 ( Bushban ) Chinese AK. Does NOT need to comply with 922 R ( parts count rule ). I am not aware of any "heat treating" problems with the receiver ..... only receivers I have heard of having such issues were the Vulcans, the ejector rail was not hardened and it would bend/warp/wear down quickly.
It should easily bring $1000.
Thats one of the good one's! When B-West started to do there own receivers that is when they went sour! $500-$800.

The Chinese marked B-West recievers are fine...its the one with no china mark on them made here in the US that they screwed up. They were not heat treated properly. Yours is good.
Hey NP! Nice AK site there! Really nice!

Thanks recon, I appreciate it.
Is it true that the B West AK is made from ploytech parts and a norinco receiver? If not then which factory made the parts and reciver for B West.
Also which is more common side folder or underfolder AK-47 ?
Thanks

As far as I know there all Norinco parts...they wouldnt use 2 different factories materials for the Chinese guns. The B-west made receivers were not heat treated properly so thats the problem with them. Ive never seen or heard of Poly parts on them. I think the factories were 26 and 66.
This rifle has 2 stampings on left side I am wondering about. The first appears to be a 010 under the AKS 762x39 stamp near the handguard. The other is a 2 inch spot over the pistol grip that has had some of the markings removed. The last 2 letters appear to be "CH". I can not make out the rest of the markings. What could these markings mean?
Where can I look for makers proofs on this rifle?
Thanks

Look on Jeepcreeps website.... click here (http://www.chicom47.com/) there is something on the B-west.
How hard is it to find the type 56-2 Norinco stock sets. They look pretty cool, and it has that weird psitol grip.
