A FIXED collapsable stock??
Are you from Jersey?
Never had a "fixed" collapsible stock but I imagine its the politically correct one and hard to convert. If that's the case then you have a wonderful learning opportunity to see what having a non-milspec stock is all about or order some kind of replacement from Bushmaster.
If your talking about the rifle, she couldn't afford a new one so she bought our friends post ban. She got me a new gun, I'm not complaining. New Jersey?
I was not talking about the rifle as such. Everyone knows that Bushmaster makes good AR's but they do not make a lot of component to military specifications. If they did you would be able to replace the stock for considerably less and choose what you wanted from a large selection. You will have to replace the stock with a Bushmaster product or spend more money for mil-spec components.
I would also add that if your G/F purchased the Bushy for you, she deserves a Blue Star and maybe, just maybe a nice dinner.

ummm.
You could try to remove the pin,
You could buy a new "noName" stock, which is the same as the high dollar basic 6 Pos. stocks.
Go to AR15.com and learn a few things. You'll learn more there than anywhere.
Welcome to our group, My name is BOB and Ima AR-holic too.

I believe the Bushmaster fixed telestocks use a full-length lower receiver extension tube (buffer tube), so you cannot just unpin and/or replace the stock; you'll need a "kit" that includes a new stock and a carbine-length extension tube, buffer, and spring.
You can check on the current tube by looking in the hole at the rear of the stock; if the rear edge of the tube comes all the way or nearly all the way to the rear of the stock, you'll need the kit. If it stops about 4 inches in from the rear, then it MIGHT be unpinnable, but you'd still need the stock latch assembly or a new stock.

The easiest way to fix this is to replace the stock. Here's a good place to get a good one for about $60, if they haven't raised their prices

Try this GEHASST:
Bushmaster has very good customer service.Call them and explain the deal,I'll bet they will take back the stock and get you fixed up with a no ban one.I once ordered a dissy upper and when I got it I just didn't like the way it looked on my lower so I called them and sent it back to trade for a 16".They were very nice about it.One more thing, do not try to convert it to a working collapsible stock, you'll just wind up dicking the whole thing up and they won't take it back then.

If the telestyle buttstock was made by Bushmaster and is fixed. It uses a full length buffer tube, and CANNOT be converted. You can call and ask if they will swap it with you, but I don't know how that will go.
