View Full Version : Trapezoid sights for glock uz2bUSMC 12-25-2005, 14:19 Anyone make these for Glock... same ones that are on the Steyrs? Leibster 12-26-2005, 02:15 uz2busmc, As far as I know, Steyr only makes their sights to fit their handguns. While not identical to the Steyr sights, I have invented a new type of sighting system that works on a triangular concept. (Of course I'm biased, but I feel it's a significant improvment!) We hope to have our new, improved version coming out by February. If you're interested, you can read what fellow Glocktalkers said about the sights here: http://www.glocktalk.com/showthread...threadid=350419 and here: http://www.glocktalk.com/showthread...threadid=315273 --Leibster uz2bUSMC 12-26-2005, 11:35 I'm not picky about who makes them, I just like the concept. Are you going to have pictures of these on your site, because I am defenetely interested. Will you have night version aswell? Thanx for the response. Leibster 12-26-2005, 11:55 Well, they are different than the Steyr sights. You can see for yourself at www.suresight.com. A night sighted version is tentatively planned, but there is no precise ETA as of yet. The Steyr sights work just like traditional notch & post sights, but the back notch is bent in at 45 degrees on each side, and the front is triangular. My concept is different. The entire front sight is visually aligned on top of the rear sight. When the shooter does this, he sees a completed triangle. The tip of the triangle is point of impact. This arrangement allows simultaneously for maximum front sight visibility and maximum target visibiltiy. (The sight picture actually obscures less of the target, but the front sight has more than twice the viewable surface area of a Steyr or XS Sight.) The SureSight's alignment also capitalizes on an inborn human ability to complete shapes (called the Gestalt Principles of Perceptual Organization). Hope that helps, --Leibster uz2bUSMC 12-26-2005, 20:03 Well, your sales pitch must be on point because to tell you the truth, after looking at your site, I'm sold. I'll be keeping up on your site to see what the improved version will be... but thanx again for the info. Leibster 12-26-2005, 21:58 You're welcome! If you have any other questions or comments, feel free to ask. All the best, --Leibster Desert Rat 23 01-03-2006, 19:07 Any closer to getting these to market? The wait is killing me. Leibster 01-03-2006, 21:55 Desert Rat 23, We are still anticipating a February release date. There may be some exciting developments, but I can't talk about them until they are finalized. Stand by for news. --Leibster scuttlebutt 01-08-2006, 12:23 Hey.Have you guys(and da womens)seen the trapezoid sights by Advantage Tactical? http://www.advantagetactical.com They also produce,or plan to,for other makes as well. LabTech 01-08-2006, 14:27 Uh oh, Leibster. Looks like Advantage Tactical likes your sight design quite a lot. Are you going to be able to trump it? Leibster 01-08-2006, 14:34 Well, their patent references mine, and it appears likely that they require my permission to manufacture their sight. I contacted the company several weeks ago via certified mail, and have not heard back from them. I will probably be contacting them again when I get some more time. I'm really not interested in "trumping" them. Rather, I hope we can work something out that is mutually agreeable. --Leibster scuttlebutt 01-08-2006, 19:01 Sorry!I didn't mean to stir up the pot.I ran across it a few months ago and thought that I would pass it on to fellow members.~angel~ agalb 01-12-2006, 08:07 I have a set of the tru glo sure sights that I am replacing. Leibster, the guy who designed these most excellent sights monitors this thread pretty religiously. http://glocktalk.com/showthread.php?threadid=350419 five-0 02-09-2006, 21:28 Alright Leibster, it's February dammit...where are those sights? Wulfenite 02-09-2006, 21:56 I shot those styer sights for a while and could never get used to them.....they're ok for slow fire but they're really not conducive to shooting fast. compassman 02-10-2006, 18:25 There nothing like the steyr sights. LabTech 02-10-2006, 21:42 Originally posted by Wulfenite I shot those styer sights for a while and could never get used to them.....they're ok for slow fire but they're really not conducive to shooting fast. Here's the sight picture with the Sure Sights. I find that I can shoot these sights quicker than conventional ones. http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e379/SewerDog/SureSight3.jpg RayB 02-11-2006, 21:05 And? --Ray vBulletin® v3.7.3, Copyright ©2000-2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd. | ![]() |
