I have a 14" Bushmater M-4 style AR with a permanately attached Izzy flash suppresor. While cleaning it tonight, I noticed that the front inside verticle faces of all three of the gas slots is heavily pitted and there are definate marks from the gasses of the muzzleblast. Unfortunatly, I don't have any way to post a pic of it. Hopefully I have descibed it well enough.
i have never fired any kind of corrosive or corrosive primed ammunition in the rifle and I clean after every trip to the range. I can only think that it may just be from powder residue or unburned powder grains being blasted into the metal.
Has anyone noticed anything like this on their flash suppresors? I personaly don't have lot of experience with rifles equipted with flash suppesors so I am really curious about this.
As always, many thanks in advance.
Regards,
Mike
