View Full Version : Hole in trigger hurting finger
I recently bought my first 1911 and love it, except for one thing. The hole in the leading edge of the trigger (for screw adjustment) bites into my finger. Should I shut up and build a well earned callus, or is this abnormal?
You'll never shoot your best if pain is associated with every shot. I might suggest you get a regular trigger and put it on the 1911.
No offend, but this is the first time I ever heard someone having this issue.
May I ask what kind of gun is it?, how heavy is the trigger pull?, is it just un-even finish or rough edges around the hole?
Must be a bad trigger cut. Get the new trigger, and you're good to go!
Your trigger might have a sharp edge - pull it out and chamfer the edge of the hole -
I would turn a sharp drill bit about twice as big as the hole by hand into the hole to break the sharp edge and finish/polish it with some 320 grit black wet/dry paper.
The pistol is a Springer Loaded. I'm not sure what the exact trigger pull is, but it is heavier than a stock Glock w/ 5.5# connector. There has definitely been nothing done at the factory to smooth/bevel the edges of the hole in the face of the trigger. There are no burrs or ragged edges, but there is definitely a noticably sharp edge. I like the drill bit suggestion. I'll give that a go.
