A while back I posted a message that said Texas passed a lane splitting law and others have pointed out that the proposal didn't pass. But recently I read one of the popular American bike mags (it's either Cycle World, Motorcyclist or Sport Rider as they are the only three American bike mags I read) and they said that Texas did pass the lane splitting/lane sharing law.
Can any Texan rider conform this?
I read the "UP" blurb in Cycle World about it passing. CW jumped the gun, apparently. I found this thread: http://forums.cycleworld.com/groupee/forums/a/tpc/f/2690019321/m/4730074721 in which CW editor David Edwards said:
Pretty simple: We blew it! Apologies for jumping the gun, and hopefully the bill will get through next session.

I wish it was legal to split lanes in all 50 states. Part of the reasons I ride a scoot is to cut down on traffic congestion, so let me avoid the congestion by splitting the lanes.
OK OK, that's the public reason for riding, the real reason is, I freaking love it!
