It is either a S&W 4506 or 1006. I'm pretty sure I saw him loading mags in one of the first episode with .45 rounds. Obviously that would make it a 4506. They aren't in production anymore but you can put hands on a nice used one for $400 - $500. MrWithasee 01-04-2006, 14:57 Moderator, please delete - duplicate posting. I just know so many Earls. I have a little Earl in me. Bravo-Four 01-05-2006, 11:11 Alright, so it is either a S&W 4506 or 1006. My bad. It looked very 1911'ish. It is understandable how they could be confused for one another. cjblackmon 01-05-2006, 13:36 Originally posted by MrWithasee They have a similar appearance. I think it is the S&W4506 those rounds look like .45acp. sundance43.5 01-05-2006, 20:38 Originally posted by cjblackmon I think it is the S&W4506 those rounds look like .45acp. If they are trying to emulate the LAPD, then it would have to be a 4506, because as far as I know, the LAPD does not authorize 10mm duty guns, but I know they authorize the 4506. smith10 01-05-2006, 21:17 Yup its a 4506,Like the gun.Don't like the show. JMag 01-05-2006, 21:20 Originally posted by smith10 Yup its a 4506,Like the gun.Don't like the show. +1 MikeLadner 01-05-2006, 22:11 The show rocks, the gun is crap. ;f pangris 01-06-2006, 01:51 Originally posted by scottauld Darnit now I will have to check out this show Why> to see S&Ws?? cjblackmon 01-06-2006, 06:20 I like this show because it doesn't have such a traditional outcome. Not always the good guy wins, the bad guy doesn't always lose, and the sometimes the cops do what they need to do to convict the guy they know is bad (plant guns, drugs, evidence). It's a TV show not reality so they can put a little more drama in it. I loved Miami Vice, it wasn't always predicatable either, Calderone escapes, good guys get killed, etc. BuckyP 01-06-2006, 07:02 It is a 4506. Their website had a short web cast of the guns used on the show. They show the Glock 17, Beretta 8000s (aka Cougars), and the Beretta 92s. Then they move on to the .45 caliber 4506. The guy makes a comment "you wouldn't want to be on the wrong end of this". I was kind of thinking, I wouldn't want to be on the wrong end of any of them. FWIW: The Shield is my favorite show, followed closely by 24. sundance43.5 01-06-2006, 12:41 Originally posted by BuckyP FWIW: The Shield is my favorite show, followed closely by 24. Ditto. I also like "Alias", and it's probably my 3rd favorite show, but if you miss an episode you have no idea what's going on. It's been very hard to get back into the show, since I haven't watched it for a while. vBulletin® v3.7.3, Copyright ©2000-2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd. | ![]() |
