View Full Version : KKM G21 10mm barrel?
I've been wanting a 10mm for some time now. I already have a G21, and I noticed that KKM offers a 10mm barrel for the G21. Is there a downside? I know the breechface is different, and my intuition tells me that Glock would have kept them the same to reduce production costs, a la G17/22/31. The fact that Glock didn't leads me to believe there were some engineering concerns. Am I way off here?

"We have these 45/10mm barrels in stock. The extractor needs to be changed".

Here is a copy of an email I got from KKM two days ago.

I have the 6 inch version of KKMs 10mm barrel for the G21, and am very happy with it. If you don't have an LCI extractor you need to get one. Other than that all you need are 10mm mags.
I just got an e-mail from KKM that they will have 10mm conversion barrels for the G30 in about 3 weeks, and I will be buying one of those as well!
Edited to add the LCI (loaded chamber indicator) ectractor you need is a G21 model, not a G20, so if you have a recent gun you are already good to go.

+1 same in my G20/21 Longslide.
If you have the G21 LCI extractor in it, you're good. The old style flat (non-LCI) extractor works, but not so well.

Thanks for the tips guys!
So there are no potential issues coming from the difference in the breech face size?

So there are no potential issues coming from the difference in the breech face size? No, the KKM .45-10mm conversion barrel is made to fit the G21 breech face. There will be no gaps, if that's what you're worried about.

How can you tell which extractor is in a G21??? Mine is about 2 years old and has the rail on it.
Sweet! Good stuff to know. One more question: I'm really liking the longslide setup. How much extra velocity are you gettin out the extra 1.4"?

800+ft/lbs! Now that is impressive!
How is the recoil on those anti-aircraft loads? :)

How do these loads sound to you?
1st 180grn Speer GD bullet going 1,423fps and 809ft/lbs ME !
If that ain’t hot enough, how about?
2nd 165grn Rainier RNFP bullet going 1,507fps and 823ft/lbs ME !! [/B]
I know you stated barrel length for the 45 stuff, but what barrel was that for the 10mm loads?
Since we're already on the subject of the conversion barrel, here's mine.
