View Full Version : new VZ Operators on a SW1911Sc
I really like these grips a lot.. super high quality. They are actually a little smooth. the vz website pics look as if they are fairly aggressive but they are actually smoothed out.. perfect combo of grip and comfort for all day carry. IMO of course..

Those are very sweet. How much did they run and where did you get them? How has the S&W been as far reliability goes.

Is your mag loaded with 2 different types of ammo. It looks as if the 1st 4 rounds are brass cased and the last 4 are aluminum or nickel?????
Those really are some great looking grips. I intend to pick up a set soon!
the grips were 55 bucks with 5 dollors shipping. The owner of VZgrips is a really nice guy, I first purchased the linen Vz320's and they just werent for me, so i emailed him and he was willing to trade me back for the Operators. I really like the operators.
The S&W Sc has only had around 250 rnds through it but they have all been flawless.. not one problem yet. I have fed it wally=world winchester, wolf, cci-blazer so far. The gun is very accurate also, the point of aim point of impact is damn near perfect. Im amazed, the thing shoots excactly where you point it.
ya good eyes on the different ammo.. I just stuffed something in there real quick for the pic. I need to get some hollow points going, I wish they werent so damn spendy..
oh yeah I purchased them from www.Vzgrips.com

Hey those look great. Sure are much better looking than the blah orange wood grips that came on my Commander 1911PD. I agree about seeking a balance of aggressiveness for carry grips too.

I like the way the VZ grips look -- I just wish they would offer the Operators in other colors. I'm looking at a set of Desert Blonde grips for my RIA -- but they only come in Diamond Back or Gator Back. :(

Don't feel bad..been there, done that. I carry Rangers because that's what I have(bought a bunch of 50 round boxes at $14.99 each last year from California Police Equipment). When they run low I grab what I can, WWB HPs, Remington HPs, Federal HPs, Hornady HPs, Blazer 200gr "Flying Ashtrays", etc. Then when one of the "premium" rounds goes on sale that will be my choice for a time. I think they are all so good in 45 cal., you really can't go wrong. Why carry a round you can't afford to REALLY test well for reliability????
Although 90% of the time I carry HPs (except when in NJ, I ran out of Powerball), unlike some guys, I don't feel unarmed with FMJs if I run out of HPs.
As long as it has proven reliable in my gun I'm happy. :)

Shown are my thin profile VZ Gatorback black linen grips. Very nice and good folks to deal with.

How about VZ Delta Elite Operators?

Very cool. My buddy just sent VZ a set of Wilson Combat medallions to put in a set of Operators for his CQB. I can't wait to see them!
I heard that VZ intends to produce the Operators in other colors very soon, but I didn't hear it straight from the source. I am happy with black, but if anyone else is looking for options please email VZ and maybe your opinion will influence them a bit. I already did it last year, they said "no way", and then my buddy asked a few months later, and they said "we plan to offer other colors soon".
Maybe a few more emails wouldn't hurt ;)
