My poor 17 never gets out of the house much...so I ordered a C-Tac holster for it. I have carried a 1911 Commander before and the 17 isn't all that much larger, mostly in the grip as far as I can see. Anyone other Founder members carry their 17's?

Been carring one in a shoulder rig this winter under my coat.Got a Galco IWB Summer Comfort just used it today for the first time. Wore it about 4 hrs in town. Resturant, Wally World, and such. Long sleeved lined flannel shirt unbuttoned with a t-shirt. No one was the wiser. Even had a LEO in DQ with us. He was just one of the masses.Aware of nothing but his food.

I just started carrying. I have tried out a couple of IWB holsters and find them irratating. I am using the "cheap" OWB Fobus and I like it. I just have to make sure it covers with my sweatshirt.

Hi, I'm not a founders member but I carry my G17 in an RM holsters lowrider. Just love that G17.

I carry my g17 both on duty and off. I carry it iwb in a bladetech holster and this works great. It is no more difficult to conceal than a 1911. Yeah, it's a bit thicker, but I just adjust my pants/bel size accordingly. It is a lot lighter than a 1911 and I appreciate this.

I carry my G17 on my right waist in a simple Uncle Mike's inside the waistbelt holster ($12). It's the only holster I ever bought and I like it. I've been carrying for a few months now. The G17 is not really that big and I don't find it uncomfortable to carry. It conceals well and I'm a slim-medium build and 5'11".

The bottom line is that you'll just have to find out what works for you. I think you can make it work if you try.

Someone else that knows the RM Holsters. What a true value they are. I am 6'*" so carrying a 34, 21, 30, 19, 17 is quite easy. I'm thick so the butt does not stick out.

I carry mine only in the winter, when I have on several layers of clothes. I usually use a Fobus OWB paddle holster. I've never had a problem with any part of the pistol being exposed.

They are good holsters. I use an RM "ECP".

I also carry a 17 in a RM lowrider. The best holster money can buy IMHO!

I've carried my 17 many times. Since I got my 19 though I've not carried it. The 17 isn't hard to conceal for "around the town" carry though. Even for someone like me, 5'5", 150lbs.

Rarely on me but in the car. I feel overly protected with the 17+1 capacity.
