View Full Version : my dream pistol...
10mm, of course (wonderful mix of power and versatility)... 5.5 inch barrel, so that the slide can gain mass through length without "bulk" of the G20 type, and also deliver better ballistics. Double column mag, but it needn't be huge -- 11-13 rounds are fine, so that the grip can be of reasonable thickness and good ergonomics. Single action trigger design, that lends itsself well to customization (think 1911 here). Basically, think of doing for the 10mm what the Browning hi-power did for 9mm.
I doubt it will ever happen. It's simply too good to ever happen.
Doesn't quite fit what you've described, but how 'bout an ergonomically friendly, DA/SA CZ 97B in 10mm? Carrying it cocked & locked and shooting it in SA mode are certainly do-able.

I'd love to see Steyr put the "M" on steroids, that would be a most impressive package. There are quite a few Steyr owners who have voiced how much they'd like to see it as a 10mm as well. One can only hope. This gun is very interesting.
I just wish Kahr would come out with a single stack 10mm, that would work for me.

In my view, the CZ is very similar to the Glock 20. Barel length is 4.85 inches meaning there is going to have to be "sideways" bulk to get enough slide mass to handle the cartridge (my idea is to be able to keep the slide profile as slender as possible by adding length), and trigger is usable but not great (in the same way one can pretend the Glock "safe action" is really SA).
I don't doubt it's a good pistol, but it's another "retrofitted" 10mm. Will we ever see a thoroughbred?
