I need to replace a Vepr II in .223 that I traded. If you had to get something in this price range what would you get? *Edit caliber does not matter*

I guess that I'm a little curious because I own several Veprs that are fine AK's. I've heard that the Vepr AK in .223 is the most accurate AK ever made, so I'm wondering why you want to get rid of it? About the only other AK that I would recommend in that price range would be an Arsenal out of Las Vegas Nevada. I'm into owning accurate AK's. Just my two cents worth.

I bought an ARSENAL SA M-7 carbine about 6 mouths ago, before the price increased, OTD for $620. They have gone up alot since then and seems to be alittle high. Grant you they are still some of the best made AKs around. I live in Las Vegas and they are still expensive.
Have bought a SLR-95 since then and they are also very well made.

I just bought and Arsenal SLR-105R, the AK-74 clone, I really like it and paid $500 out the door for mine.
I like the way it fits, and shoots. Ive been shooting it alot, usally one round at a time to get used to changing the magazines in and out, since im really used to my AR.

The main reason I traded was because it would be cheaper for me to buy another AK than to duplicate the gun I traded for. It saved me around $200 in the long run. I would also like something with a shorter barrel since the K version was not available 5 years ago when I bought mine. I did like it very much though and who knows I may end up getting another one.

I'd either get another VEPR (my .223 VEPR I have is the most accurate AK I've seen) or a stamped Arsenal AK74 clone. If I were in your place I'd just keep my eyes open for a decent price on an Arsenal or VEPR.
