View Full Version : New to the AK world and need help!
I am going to be picking up an AK in the next couple weeks and I am trying to get the best bang for my buck. I am going to use this as a possible duty weapon as well. More or less for backup in the patrol car. I am looking to have the galil furniture and a folding stock as it fits my needs best.
What I have seen with 2 mags ready to go out the door is the WARS and the Romy's. Any advice on which one to get or if I need to look else where for my AK would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance guys/gals.

The WASR is the bottom of the barrel as far as quality goes. I have one, so don't get me wrong...they get the job done. I would recommend going with a SAR-1 or SAR-2 or whatever they are up to now. You can get folding stocks for any of the AKs.
And btw...what department are you in that will let you carry an AK??!!

Thanks for the info. I will look into it. I work with a small county department right now and they let you carry anything that is reliable and you qualify with. I have an AR set of for sniper duty and wanted a new M4 style rifle for a patrol rifle but they are so damned expensive.
I thought if I could get a nice compact AK that I can get 2" groups with out to 100yrds it would be ideal. Where is a good place to fine models like the SAR-1 or -2?
