View Full Version : Got my PPK today
Went to get the PPK/S that I had been looking at for the past couple of months today at the local gun shop.
Sure enough, it was gone. Bought up by some other guy. They only had a two toned version and I didn't fancy it.
So I asked if they could order me one of the smaller PPK models in all stainless and the owner said they were not shipping those yet. One of the other salesmen went in the back and dug around and pulled this one from the stock pile. Turns out they are shipping them afterall.
Gonna give her about a 200 round session next Tuesday. Fits in my pocket much better than the Interarms PPK/S I had a decade or so ago.

Yah congratulations! But one question: why by a PPK for pocket carry when there's smaller/lighter/more powerful pistols available? Granted, they are "classics" but am I missing something here?
Now, be gentle Walterers...

Because I got just about everything else. I am in the final phase of the "buy back everything you traded off or sold in the past and regret" safe filling project.
Now for a six inch Smith and Wesson .22 LR revolver in stainless.......ahh, what a sickness. This one isn't in the house 24 hours and I am already scoping out the next purchase.
I admit I have a problem yet I want no help for it......unless someone wants to finance my addiction.;f

Because we can. Yes their are smaller 380 I have a colt Mustang And theirs always the fixer uper Keltec. and today theirs some 9mm in same size. Well I can control the PPK/S in rapid fire. I had a 40 cal same size as my PPK and target was safe after 1st round but anything behind and flying was in danger for rest of mag.
I have faith in my PPK/S I have faith in my S&W J frame snub but I hit much more accurate with my Walthers. This is hard trying to be nice. So the end. Besides our pistols aren't shaped like a brick made of plastic or just plain ugly and black. That should cover the Glocks Kahrs and the Springfields want to be Glock. Well I tried to be nice but my fingers wouldn't obey;f
lwt210 enjoy your new PPK It looks nice

Don Hume makes a nice pocket holster for the PPK pistols. I have my PPK/S resting beside me in its Hume. Earlier tonight I ordered another 1 for my S&W I can't warm up to the none leather type. They can be found less than 40 bucks with shipping.
Congrats on the new PPK. I also have been buying back everything I sold off in college for food money. I only have a PPK and a couple others left. I have been looking around for one. What do you think is a fair price for a new stainless PPK or PPK/S?

Aesthetics my good man.
There is nothing quite like the classic lines of the world renowned PPK.

I gave 480.00 plus tax. Probably not a deal but oh well.
Enjoy!! Nothing like it!!
I have one exactly loke that, bought in 1995.. It has never bobbled. I did change the grips to woods from Houge. The only fault I have with it is the slide is really hard to jack. It wasn't a problem until I advanced in age. I have been thinking of selling it for that reason. At 66 it's rough, at 70, may not be able to.

Man..isn't THAT the truth! I think they are the most handsome pistols in the world, and only the Python rivals it for sheer beauty--along with S&W revolvers.

There is something to be said for 'style'. Sure, there are plastic pistols that may 'fit the bill' a tad better...but none of them have a bit of 'panache'.
Also, as for me, while I am a believer in polymer...metal is just more comforting.

Remember the old saying. If you need to ask You wouldn't understand.
I want my cars American with V-8's and rear wheel drive
I want my bike a v twin with LOUD in you face pipes and paint.
I want my pistols to be Classic 1911A1,PPK's S&W Blue& wood 44mag. Colt 45SA Lever action rifles. Classic's all of them
now excuse me time for my meds
There will always be a better gun, but i like the PPKS. For the same reason that i like old Swiss mechanical watches, old Porsche 911s and old Japanese swords. Character.
I have a Walther PPK/S. One of the few that was made in Germany. I have had it for over 35 years. It was, still is and will probably forever will be one of the finest pocket autos ever made. If you know how to use one, you do not need anything larger than a .380 to take someone down because at 15 yards or less it is a tack driver. I have never heard of anyone walking away with a couple of .380s in the kill zone. Anyone who has to ask, "Why buy a Walther?" does not understand.
