View Full Version : Got my first 10
I ordered a Kimber Eclipse in 10mm from my local purveyor of fine arms. Well, to make a long story short, it came in sooner than I expected so I haven't made my double tap order to feed it. The shop has Corbon 160 (165?). Are these a load that will give me the feel of a real 10mm or are they watered down like so many other 10mm factory loads? Thanks in advance

I will have to borrow a camera to get a digital pic to post. But I will make a sincere effort. I have to say, IMHO the Eclipse is the prettiest gun I own and maybe the prettiest one I have ever seen. I'm not too much into modern digital stuff. Most of my spendable money goes into guns and ammo.

Good score. Post a pic and
go buy some DoubleTap pronto!!! ;f
Cor-Bon isn't wimpy. I have some of their 185 grain stuff that is listed as 1320 fps / 696 fpe. DT might be able to eek out a little more, but we're talking about the same ballpark.
(edited to add: actually, cor-bon's 165 grain load looks a bit tamer than their 185 grain load -- DT does offer a significant edge in this bullet weight)
Most of the cor bon stuff is watered down. That load 180/1320 was a "special" load. You can enjoy shooting the stuff, but its not full power 10mm.
Thanks guys. I pretty much figured that all commercial 10mm ammo was watered down with the exception of Double Tap. I need to get an order in to them. Thanks for the post and information. I will post a pic and range report as soon as I can. BTW, I gotta tell you , this Eclipse is about the prettiest thing I have ever seen (second only to my new born daughter)
