7.62 x 39 shortage?

My friend couldn't find any 7.62 x39 ammo Why is this?

Look at the other 500 threads on this subject. We don't know the reason. But, on the other hand i got 1,000 rounds of Wolf HP today from sportsman's guide.

You will start seeing more of it in the next few months. I believe the prices will stay higher from now on though.

From about Mar 05 until Dec 05, there was no surplus or Wolf 7.62X39 imported. Among other things, the Russians had a large military order to fill. The cheap 7.62X39 on the U.S. market pretty much dried up.

A shipment of ammo cleared customs a few weeks ago, and you should already see some ammo on the market. More shipments are en-route and will be here in the next few weeks. Due to the demand, prices will be a tad higher than usual. I expect prices to be high for a while as many guys will hoard ammo due to the recent low supply. Within 6 months, I would expect prices to get back down to reasonable levels.

Yes Wolf is filling very large military contracts. The 7.62x39 will be on it's way back soon. Last time the wolf FMJ dried up, rumors abounded that wolf was no longer making the FMJ 7.62x39. what a bunch-o-crap........

I was at my range the other day and had seen that they had gotten a new shipment. Price? $4.99 abox, $118 for 500rds, or $224 for 1000 rds. ;P Kinda sux since i'm going to buy a Yugo M70 today.

Decguns is right. There apparently were some large orders in the mix but it is staring to flow again. I just got 500rds of Wolf for $60 shipped. Not too bad. When AIM gets it back in I will run up and get some from them or wait until NGD.

Sportsmans guide has some. He got it from Ammunitionstore.com and had the order in for a while so I guess they got some in and it shipped.

Centerfire Systems is supposed to be getting some in as well but it seems theirs is on the same boat as all the rest! :)
