View Full Version : Foaming Bore Cleaner??
I broke down and bought a can of Outers Foaming Bore Cleaner. Has anyone else used this stuff? If so how do you like it, and what kind of results did you get with it? I'd like to get some feedback before I start squirting it down the bore of my most prized possessions.:) Bill T.
Sorry about posting this here. Please feel free to move it to a more appropriate forum.

I use a similar product called "Wipeout" that is also a foaming bore cleaner. It is an excellent copper fouling remover and has available an accelerator that speeds up the cleaning action.
I use it alone and usually let it soak in the bore over night.
Unbelieveable just how much crap comes out of a bore I thought was clean
Do you need to put an empty case in the chamber after you use it to keep it from foaming back into the action or anything like that?? Bill T.
I've heard about Wipeout for a couple months and how good it was so I went to the store looking for some - actually I went to 3 stores and couldn't find any. I ended up buying the Gunslick Foaming Cleaner. I just got a new rifle(Rem700PSS .308Win) and had to do some breakin and decided to use the foaming cleaner. After one use of the cleaner I climed back into the truck and picked up 2 more bottles of the cleaner. This stuff is awesome. I let it sit for 15-30 minutes and the copper comes right out - this stuff is unbelieveable. I'm actually cleaning my rifle and one of my pistol barrels with it as I type this!

I have used Wipeout for several years. In that time I have gone through at least 6 cans.
I love the stuff. To clean my Glocks, I simply take the barrel out, shoot in the foam, and leave the barrel on my bench overnight. The next day I run a couple of patches through, reassemble the weapon and put it in the safe.
Fast, easy, and works like a charm.
Thanks much for the feedback guys. Bill T.
I use gunslick foaming bore cleaner myself. I will issue a word of warning.
DO NOT let the stuff sit out in direct sunlight or be exposed to high heat. I was cleaning rifles outside one summer afternoon and accidently left the can on the patio table. When I found it the next evening the can had expanded and bulged the bottom of the can so it was ROUND. Luckily the can did not rupture.
The foam still works though... The can just won't stand up straight.
