anyone had there gun hard cromed? if so where is a good place(shop) to have it done , i have a friend that had a 1911 slide hard cromed a few years ago and when it came back all the letters and numbers were filled in (it was pretty though)

This topic has been talked about quite a bit lately - try doing a search for "hard chrome" and "tripp research." Tripp is one of the best. I just had my Walther P99 slide hard chromed in matte, and am about to send him my complete 1911 and my SW99 slide.
The slide is just $80.
