Took my new Glock 20 to the range with some Lancer reloaded 10MM 180gr fmj ammo. had bought 300 rounds to test prior to possibly buying alot more.
shot a 50 round string to see if there were any clinkers in a box-they're weren't.
High-918 feet per second
Low-856 fps
Average-889 fps
extreme spread-62 fps
standard deviation-17 fps
pleasant to shoot-didn't have time to shoot any groups due to an appointment.
Are those numbers right? I'm suprised that will cycle the action. <337 ft#'s if I calculate that right. That's 9mm territory!

cycled the gun just fine-never focused on ft lbs that much-this is just range ammo-I'll I intend to hunt with it is paper.
Didnt mean it as an insult. I am just suprised that 337ft# will cycle a stock G20. I typically run my reloads at ~550ft# and always thought of them as no more than hot 40 S & W's.
Glad you have a winner. This adds to my belief that 10mm's are the most versatile auto.

yeah, when I saw the numbers for the 1st round I wondered how it had cycled-also chrono'd some CB DPX and 135gr jhp, Fed Hydra Shok, and American Eagle fmj and the gun functioned fine with all of them.
mag release beat up my trigger finger with heavy loads-one of the downside of being a southpaw

They are molded with sharp corners. Smooth them off with an emery board.

That's more than enough to cycle a stock G20. Full-size Glocks have the same weight recoil spring. This is why it's a good thing to increase recoil spring weight with any Glocks chambered in anything other than 9x19. Factory Winchester 155gr. Match ammo had no trouble cycling my 24lb. recoil spring at 1050fps.
