Well I got a few more goodies so I thought it was time for an update.

S&W M&P15T
Almost everything is Magpul (stock, grip, rail covers, trigger guard, magazine). I also have a Grip-pod GPS-02, Aimpoint ComM w/ ARMS mount, Vortex FH, and a custom Surefire weapon light setup that consists of:
-Surefire 6P LED light
-Vltor G series mount
-Surefire shock isolated bezel
-Surefire UU05 tapeswitch
-Surefire beamcover

It and everything on it works great.

Thanks, I'm glad you like them. As far as I know, there is still no carved in stone date for the smoked mags to be released.

I finally got my hands on a windowed black Pmag. It didnt fit the magwell at 1st. But after some trial and error with a dremel and sanding bit. BINGO! It looks great and fits perfect. My gun should be sponsored by magpul, lol.

Ok, here's a picture of my Homeland Defense rifle. This AR15 was first built using a Model 1 Sales A2 parts kit, once the AWB bill was no longer the law of the land, I rebuilt the rifle the way I always wanted It to be.

Here's what we got:

DPMS M4 upper receiver
DPMS lower receiver with Model 1 Sales Lower parts kit (Might replace with Bushmaster lower parts kit)
DPMS 14.5 chrome lined 1 In 9 inch twist M4 barrel with Bushmaster phantom flash suppressor permanently attached
DPMS M4 Stock
Bustmaster Bolt
Rock River Arms M4 handguards

Also have A.R.M.S # 40 rear flip sight

What don't you like about it?



I'm actually just nitpicking.

1. The top rail isn't on the same level as the flat top so if I decided to mount a flip up front sight it would have to be barrel mounted.

2. It isn't freefloat. (but with a 10.5 inch barrel, I'm sure I won't notice the difference.)

I have a question for those who have EOtechs. Have they done away with the flush socket type screw and fully utilized the large thumbscrew for mounting? Just curious cause I am looking at the 512 or 552. I'm having to decide if the extra $75 is worth it for the NV compatibility which I might not ever use and the additional water depth rating.

FedEx delivered the Bushmaster action vise clamp last night, so I was finally able to remove the barrel off the A2 and put it on the new CMT upper. Here is the finished product minus the rear sight. My wallet is really hurting right now since I just purchased a Troy rear folding battle sight and an EOtech 512 :supergrin:

I call this my A1/A3 hybrid. It started out as an ancient Colt A1, but then it received the following: CMT/Stag flattop upper, DPMS carry handle, Wilsons Ergo Grip, A2 buttstock, Cavalry Arms non-tapered (M4 contour) handguard, DPMS spring kit, Enidine AR-restor, and YHM Phantom SC-1 flash suppressor. The barrel is still the A1 1/12, will replace it with a 1/9 later. Next on the wish list is an optic.:cool:

It's been mounted in a few different places and all the way forward is the most comfortable and stable for me. To me the farther forward you put the grip the better balanced the rifle is. If you put it all the way back towards the receiver, you have alot more barrel and weight in front of your support hand making it less stable. Just my .02 cents. It also gives me room to grip the handguard and not use the vertical grip.

Put a CMT A3 upper on it with YHM rear BUIS and a front YHM gas block with hooded front sight and lower picatinny rail. All I need now is an Eotech or ACOG so I can ditch the heavy riser, and a better forearm.
