View Full Version : All Right Air Force!!!
Off we go into the wild blue yonder,
Climbing high into the sun;
Here they come zooming to meet our thunder,
At 'em boys, Give 'er the gun! (Give 'er the gun now!)
Down we dive, spouting our flame from under,
Off with one helluva roar!
We live in fame or go down in flame. Hey!
Nothing'll stop the U.S. Air Force!
***************************************
Here's a toast to the host
Of those who love the vastness of the sky,
To a friend we send a message of his brother men who fly.
We drink to those who gave their all of old,
Then down we roar to score the rainbow's pot of gold.
A toast to the host of men we boast, the U.S. Air Force!

I just came into the USAFR last year. The wife desided that she wanted to re-enlist and go for officer school so I figured I may as well go back to work for uncle sam too. These days I'm in AFSOC with the 919th SFS working as a CATM instructor.

Twas a lot of fun and enjoyed doing things I'll probably never get to do again. Saw places and peoples of all kinds. Got a chance to grow up in a structured enviroment with just enough freedom (as opposed to the Marines) to have to be responsible.
Hat's off to you lifers, I don't think I could have done it, especially in my AFSC. Should have taken the transfer to the SP's when I had a chance. As it turned out, I don't regret a thing and will always be proud of my short but valuable time in service!

My VFD has a really good working relationship with the local AFB & we call them out on mutual aid every now and again;f
They just got a brand spanking new 4,000gal Pierce tender & since we only have 4-8 hydrants in our AO that tender will get a great workout:cool:
Sounds like you guys had all the fun! Let's see, after Lackland and then Chanute it was off to

When you are coming in with hydraulic fluid leaking, controls getting stiff, Jolly Greens on your wing and see those crash trucks starting to roll with all that foam on board...beautiful sight!!!
That is what we are there for. Protecting the pilots and there cargo. Also ensuring that the base is safe. I just wish that we could get rid of the green/yellow trucks and go back to red......

hydraulics-yes, the bane of c5 crews, depending where you brake. i once dumped sys3 on the hickam tarmac. 3 days on waikaki(sp) beach, yeehaa!! i haven't flown c5's for 5 years but if i remember right there are 20 or so hydraulic pumps-including the infamous RAT.
2 Pumps per engine, 2 ATM Pumps, 3 PTU's, and the RAT. God help you if it comes to that. 4 hydraulic systems.
