View Full Version : MP5 clones
I've searched all over the net. (Mainly here on GT and HKPRO).
Is there a mfg that makes an MP5 clone in 9mm with a folding stock? Do I need a $200 stamp for this? Also, the attached fake cans, I've read that these are removable - if they are removed then technically is it illegal? What about later on down the road I'd like to add a real can? I know at that point that you have to pay for the stamp for the can.
Finally, is it possible to get an MP5 clone with the collapsible stock for around $1500?
Barrel must be at least 16 inches, that can include the fake can but it can not be removable, it must be welded in place or some other type of attachment that does not allow you to take it off.
These guys have what you want at close to that price. I would beware of other clones without checking the web for reliablity reports.

Rockets Out.....
I was on the same boat as you, looking for a 9mm carbine.
Well, as much as I love HK, I went for AR type instead. For me, to spend 1.5k is a good chunk of money. I don't want to get something that questionable, or have make adjustment to makes it work, it HAS TO work!
Imagine this, $1.5k can get you a real nice sami-custom 1911, I can't just trow it in for some knock-off, imitation product such as all the clones. Some has better luck than the others, but you'll never know unless you buy it.
A real 94 would be perfect, but paying 3k+ for something that only cost ~$800 is insane.. Well, good luck for whatever you choose. I do like the balance of 94 type weapon so much more, though.
Peace out.

15 grand? For fifteen thousand dollars you should be buying a real, fully-automatic MP5.
I think you meant to say fifteen hundred.
Regarding MP5 clones - I wanted one in the worst way, but every time I read up on any of the clones, they had mixed reviews, some of which were downright nightmarish. Add to that the fact that you have to have the 16" barrel (unless you want to do the SBR paperwork and pay the tax stamp) and it just wasn't worth it to me. If it had to be a pistol caliber carbine, I'd sooner get a Beretta Storm or invest in a 9mm AR variant of known quality. Until someone comes out with an MP5 clone that garners consistently good reviews, I'm just out of the market for one. It's not worth it (to me) to pay for a real HK 94.

MP5 is definitely a sweet sub-machine gun; however, M4 (or the equivalent AR-15) have improved so much that M4 performs just as well as MP5 now a day.
I still use an MP5 at work, but a lot of my colleagues have choose to use M4 for the additional fire power and range.

Yea, you're right. I meant $1.5k.
To steer drake out of the harms way, here a pic of my 9mm carbine. All for around the price of MP5 clones with no single hiccup!

Very nice!
I keep avoiding ARs because I know once I get into 'em it's going to be a money pit. A really, really fun money pit.
