Man, I'd love to see a write-up on the Ural Gear Up.

Forget the write-up, I want one. Hehehehe, I think it would be cool. I saw an add today in "Cycle World" and it looks like a great hunting, camping run errands vehicle. :)

Just to be different I wouldn't mind having one in the garage. I really dig the camo paint job. With the sidecar it's MSRP is $10,595 + TTL. Not too bad.

Maybe if I scrimp for a year and I'm really nice to the wife she will let me have one. ;) In reality though, it's just a dream. :( It's a good thing I love Evangelina, my Red Italian Mistress. :)

Take care comrades. ;c

I'm talking about a Russian made motorcycle with a sidecar. :)

They had one of the largest displays at the Motorcycle Expo in Long Beach a couple of months ago. They had about a dozen different configurations and many with a side car. In fact, it was about the only exhibit where I felt like I was seeing something new and different. They seemed to be getting a lot of attention. Bikes looked well made and finished, but that doesn't say anything about the insides.

Somebody must have put some big bucks behind them judging from their presence at the show.

I'd like to own a set BUT only if I can get either an RPK, or an RPD to go with it.;f

Fnfalman,

Come find me in South Africa and that can be arranged. ;)

J/K I'd want one too. The laws being what they are I will have to contend myself with more common forms of toys that go BANG instead of BOOM. :)

I want one, but a little less dirt oriented and more street! I knew a guy on the internet who sold them. On some models, the hack wheel is DRIVEN! Cool! A little pricey. I was thinkning of selling off my VStrom and getting one.

I have never driven-(not ridden) a sidecar rig, but from everything I have read about them, and heard from people who own them they are a different animal.
If it were me, I would look for an older air cooled BMW with sidehack. Perfect for taking my 80 pound collie for a ride.

The Ural is a Russian copy of the BMW.

I kind of like the idea, plus there aren't a lot of them out there, so it would be different. I wouldn't use it as daily transportation, but for a trip to the grocery store or to give my 85 y/o Mother a ride it would be perfect. :)

If I had the Ural I wouldn't need my truck.
