USP's P2000sk and the P2000?

Thanks in advance.

I am gonna break this down by gun.

USP: Is their Fullsize gun and is their flagship pistol. The gun is avilable in 9mm / 40S&W / .45 ACP. The .357 Sig is avilable only in the USPc (thats the compact). It has 9 different triggers. However one half of those (4) are for lefthanded shooters. The other 4 are right handed and the last trigger is double action only (ambidextrous if you will). It also can have the LEM trigger (see P2000) The pistol is avilable in a few different models. Basically the USP and the USPc or USP Compact (USPC / USPC). There are tactical and competition versions of the guns avilable as well.

P2000: Is basically an unpadeted USP style gun. The gun is completely ambidextrous. The pistol has a slide release on both sides, an ambidextrous magazine release, and has 2 different trigger styles. The triggers are DA/SA, LEM Version 1 and LEM version 2. The LEM trigger is basically a fancy double action trigger. The difference in versions is the weight.

P2000sk: IS basically a smaller P2000. It just holds less ammo. The mags are interchangable with the larger guns though. Like a Glock 19 and a Glock 26.

Check out www.hkpro.com for good information.

I am sure some of the other people here can give you better information than I could.

Not quite. The USP does not have 9 different triggers. The trigger is the same whether the shooter is RH or LH. There are a variety of variants which correspond to the control levers. Saftey/decocker, safety only, decocker only, RH or LH, etc. The USP have 3 trigger actions, DA/SA, DAO, LEM.

Thanks for your responses.

Does the P2000 rail accept the the standard lights like the m-3 or just H&K lights?

I looked this up on H&K Pro and they said the recent version have the common rail, but I gather from what I read some older P2000's do not accept the M-3.

Those are the GPMs.

GPM = German Police Model is what I was told. They are 9mm and use different magazines as well.

The p2000 is about the same size as the usp compact. However, the slide on the compact is a little thinner but the p2000 is not as blocky because the edges are smoother. You really need to feel them to realize this. In addition, the p2000 is sort of like the modernized usp but I wouldn't say it's an upgraded version. In the end, the p3000/hk45 will replace the full size usp, and the p2000 will replace the usp compact.

Are they going to make a P2000 in .45?^7 ^7

I would not count on a .45 ACP P2000.

Would you settle for .45 GAP?

not likely. the forthcoming hk45 precludes it, but the usp .45 is the better weapon.

nothing to get excited about, at least not for me. i'm not interested in a gun that costs me 2 rounds in the mag.

but it looks more or less like a p2000, interchangeable backstraps, picatinny rail, and 10 round mag capacity. haven't heard anything about the offered variants, but since it's in the trials to replace the M9, i think the spec was for both cocked and locked and some sort of DA only system.
