I bought him a 1911 SA GI mil spec with scrimshaw USCG engraved grips today.

It looks great, I will try to get a pic posted tommorow.

I'll try to post some pics as soon as I make it back to the folks' house.

He still lives and breathes USCG after all these years, to give you an idea for how long...when he started in the CG he was a LORAN tech:)

You're a fine son. I'm retired Coast Guard and just had a birthday and my son (this is a no crapper) gave me a can of canned salmon for my birthday and I live in Kodiak where I get all the salmon I want. A can of canned salmon???? What a dope! ;)
