View Full Version : WTS sights
Im sure some of you have already seen or use the WTS or Warren/Sevigny sights. I gotta tell you, I love mine. I use them on my LEO guns, carry guns and IPSC match guns. I love the sight picture I get from them. I dont get the normal glare from the sun or the serrations in the rear that sometimes distract you.
They are just big enough to shoot with good speed, but still small enough to make tight accurate shots. Very easy to install and pretty inexpensive. The carry sights are also pretty nice. I have the Warren Carry version with tritium front sight and plain black rear, but the rear has been rounded and streamlined for carry. I dont know if you guys have seen them, but if not you should check them out. I got mine from i-shot. Helmie was great to deal with.

Thanks for the update. I was just reading about these in the new issues of GLOCK. UI am thinking of getting a set for my 34 ;f

Just saw them online and was thinking about them. Wish they were adjustable because they'd be going on my 34 as well.
Kevin, thanks for the input. I too am interested in these sights. They look like they would work better than Heinie sights for one handed slide manipulation and malfunction clearance. Correct?
P.S. Just saw you're in Clearwater. Where do you shoot?
No prob guys, just wanted to let everyone know a good thing I found out and pass it along. So far, Ive got them on my G17, 20, 24, 34 and 35. Mine have sighted in really well, I havent needed adjust's. Ive got the Warren tritium front/plain rear for my 27 and love them.
I havent tried 1 hand slide manipulation yet, but they look like they'd work.
Alfadog,
I shoot the IPSC matches at Wyoming Antelope club and in Ruskin, and Haines City, and Frostproof.
I just put the Warren models with Tritium front on my 22 and 19 and I love them! Didn't think I would ever find anything to replace my Heinie Slant Pro's but these rock! ~2
Well, Ive been shooting the WTS sights for about a year or little more and recently tried shooting the thinner sights from Heinie. Front sight width is .090 and I have to tell you, I dont like it anymore.
Just like Dave Sevigny told me, they are harder to pick up and read when shooting fast. After watching the WTS sights for so long, the thinner sights are moving around and much harder to read and keep track of. The WTS sights are MUCH easier to read and track AT SPEED, and I didnt really get the gist of it until I went back and tried it.
Plus, I shot several small poppers at 35 yards with the WTS sights and had no problem with them. Dave was right and I'll take his word as gospel next time, I really did this time too, but had to find out for myself.
I had CGR install the Warren/Sevigny "carry" model rear sight with a Heinie tritium front sight on my G17. (I prefer the serrated blade without the white outline around the tritium dot on the Heinie front sight vs. the unserrated, white outline Warren tritium front sight.) Took it to the range this weekend and I am really digging the Warren sight. I think it has an even better sight picture than the Heinie slant-pros on my G19. Sights were dead on out to 10 yards (which was the longest range available at the indoor range where I shot). And it works great for one handed slide manipulations.
Kinsco--I'm pretty sure Heinie only makes a 0.125" wide front sight. In fact, Richard Heinie himself told me that in an email a few months ago. The Heinie front sights are 0.125" wide and 0.215" tall (same as the WTS Warren Carry and Sevigny Carry front sights).
I shoot the IDPA match in Ruskin (missed the last few due to work and being sick). Hope to run into you sometime.

All Heinie fronts are 125 wide, they come in 216 (standard) 235 and 250.
The WTS sights are great and because of similar dimensions you can interchange fronts (serrated, no ring, fiber etc) with most stuff made for Heinie if you want to change them up a bit.
BTW, Matt, thanks for the good work and the quick turnaround on my sight install. I appreciate you answering my (many) questions.

"..the thinner sights are moving around and much harder to read and keep track of."
If my info is correct, they oughta be! The tritium fronts for all Warren/Sevigny fronts is .125" with the plain black serr. front for the Sevigny Comp. set is .115". Both are a big difference from an
.090" front width!
Speedrock,
Yeah, the Heinie's are bigger, but when I shot my STI's, I always had thinner (.090) sights and had my front narrowed down to match. I used to never like the bigger sights. The Heinie rear is something like .125 or .135 and the .125 front doesnt give much light on either side. I narrowed the front to get more light on each side, but after now shooting the WTS with wider notch and .115 front, I think it makes for a good combo.
I always thought it was much harder to make tighter shots with bigger sights, but the WTS havent really had that effect on me, I actually made some pretty tight shots with the WTS sights.
After doing this little test, I will stick with the WTS.
