View Full Version : I am spoiled!!!
In the 10 Ring I posted a thread about my new Kimber 10MM. http://glocktalk.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=504051
Well, to make a long story short, as I was walking away from the gun counter after buying my 10MM, the guy says, "Oh, we just got these too." and he pulls out a Kimber Raptor II. Well, it just sat in the back of my mind for the last couple days. Then I couldn't take it any more and I went back in and liked the Pro Raptor II. And...well... now I have two. Yay me!!!

Nice guns btw! Sorry man, I live the perfect life. I make enough money to be comfortable but not enough that Uncle Sam takes away my child credits in taxes so they actually pay me to live in this country and my tax returns do look good. My wife got a Cannon Digital Rebel last year so so didn't complain this year

I frickin' love guns. ;g
Excellent choices. ;c
OK Range report!!!!
The Raptor was less than I expected. Let me rephrase that. 45 ACP was less than I expected. The Kimber was great to shoot. Manageable recoil, bit nosisy, and really accurate. Of course, it has a set of night sights and I am used to the three dot sight system. I was a bit disappointed with the 45 ACP though. I shot some quart plastic bottles with water in them and it would tip the bottle over and water would run out. This was with Federal Premium ammo with 230 gr. hydrashocks. I am used to 357 Sig and 10MM where when you hit the bottle there is a vapor cloud where the bottle used to be and the bottle is tumbling out of the air. I talked to a guy at a gun shop today and he suggested using corbons, or Speer Gold Dot 230 grainers. He said they were a little hotter loads. My friend suggested using Double Tap ammo which is also a bit hotter. The guy at the gun shop also said there is an ammo called ACDP or something to that effect which uses a really light frag round that is traveling really fast and does quite a number. Since this is my first 45 ACP that I have ever owned I will have to go through a process of ammo selection. If some of you guys have suggestions I am all ears.

Remington 185 gr. +P will get you a 10mm like reaction. The 230 gr. Hyrdrashok is a good round though. Also, try some 200 gr. stuff.
Now you have to pick up Wilson Combat's new 10mm CQB that is going to be released on a very limited basis soon! :)

You wouldn't be just joshing about a thing like that would you? ;P I've about "swore a solemn oath" to only build, and not buy, 1911s from this point forward. But I would be sorely tempted for a Wilson CQB in 10mm...

I wouldn't mess with your emotions like that ;f

you need to shoot something thick and hefty with that 45, it's a slow but powerful round, shoot a phone book with all three with fmjs and you'll understand the kind of damage the .45 acp really delivers.
