Trijicon Front Sight Removal

Should this really be this hard?

I've got a G23 I bought in 1991 that came with Trijicon's on it. I'm trying to remove the front sight, which is screwed in, and it won't budge. I've got a tool for the front site, it just can't make the screw move. I applied heat with a soldering iron until the whole front of the slide was pretty darned warm. I'm considering placing it in a 300 degree oven for a bit..

Help?

I encountered the same problem once before. The screw had rusted itself in. Easy fix, and it wont harm the slide as it is much harder than the steel sight----Obtain set of Vise Grips-NOT the needlenose ones! Lock the vice grip onto the sight and give a good twist!! VIOLA! Mine only took one twist to snap the screw thread, so if it gives you trouble just go back and forth. You wont damage the slide unless you really screw up and gouge it with the vise grip, but I doubt that would even hurt a GLOCK Slide!:cool: :cool: ;e ;c

Thank you. This was exactly what happened. A good 2 twists with the vise-grips took it off, and yeah, there was a good aount of rust on there.
