View Full Version : Finally got my Project GI 45 back!
It was over a year in the making. I just got it back from CCR-Refinishing. The gun has everything I want in it.. I picked all of the parts and did 80% of the work.
Here she is!! The entire gun is matte black. It's my daily carry and I wanted something tacticool. ;g

That should make for a great carry gun. It turned out good.

That is super nice. Very tasteful (and tasty))! I really like the high quality/low bling thing. Sort of like walking softly and carrying a big stick. :)
What kind of grips are you going to put on it? Please post when you do, it will look cool, I'm sure. I would probably have a 1/2 dozen different grips to change with that pistol, it would look cool with everything from GI grips to Ivory....mmmm, Ivory......
Very sweet! ^c
Specifics on the trigger please, like source, model & PN.
That's one of the 3 things I'll be doing to my GI; I have long fingers and detest the short triggers.
Love the simple HVAC solution on the frame. ;e

LOL! It keeps my hands cool. I bought the trigger from Brownells. IIRC the brand is called Grieder or something like that. I can't find it on their online catalog anymore. It's the long solid match trigger. I had it painted black with the rest of the gun.

Thanks for the info on the trigger; no need now to answer my question at the 1911 forum, although that was a nice chronicle of your efforts.
That Grieder trigger is still seen in catalogs (incl Midway) & I note that several custom makers use their triggers as part of their work.
Thanks again!
