Has anyone installed ghost ring sights on your Glock or other pistol for that matter? If so, did they sharpen up the view of the front sight against the target? My eyes have progressed in a down hill spiral with aging in that I have a tough time getting the front sight sharp in my sight picture. I used to shoot small bore rifle and used the aperature sights, which sharpened the front sights right up, but was not sure with the distance involved from the eye to the sight if the same effect would apply. My question arises from the fact that our CCW permit qualifying is done at bullseye targets and any legal edge I can get is a plus.
Thanks, Dave
A friend of mine has them on his G27. I believe they are Ameriglo night sights.
I like them, they are fast on target, but not for precision shooting.
For a CCW pistol I would reccomend them.

I had them on my G27. Front sight was a fiber optic. VERY fast sight system. Not a bullseye sight at all. Its hard to tell if you are slighty off left or right or up and down. Out to 50 feet or so I had no problems on a IPSC type target. Sort of depends upon how percise you need to be.
You could go to a optical store and do up shooting glasses with a focal lenght about where your front sight would be. Sort of like bi-focals except the distance is front sight distance not reading text distance.

I had them on my g21 they were great for 7 to 10 yards but they were no good for distances. That said for a defense wepon they were acceptable. IMHO I had to replace them after I broke the ghost ring by dropping the slide while cleaning they were not real sturdy.
If you want fast and sturdy sights try the XS 24/7.
I have the Big Dots on my G36.
I had Ameriglo Ghostring nightsights and found that the ghostrings did not work like on a rifle with the eye relief and the short sight line.
I had XS 24/7 Big Dots and Small Dots and did not experience any advantage, neither in speed, nor in accuracy.
To correct an eye problem, proper glasses are probably the best and most direct solution.
I bought a set of ameriglow ghost ring night sites from PZGren ,above poster, And really like them on a G-30 for quick sight acquisition for 59 year old eyes they work for me!!

I had them on a Glock 27 a long time back. They suck. They snag more due to the high profile and the ghost ring concept does not work that well with the sight that far from your eye. All it is is a really big snagging rear sight.

Thanks everyone for your comments. It looks like the GR's will not do what I had hoped for. I really appreciate your time to answer,it saved me some money on sights, unfortunately it also cost me some, as I will have a new set of glasses ground to focus on the front sight with ny master eye and the left ground for distance, to be able to navigate to and from the firing line or see the target.

Maybe not so great for a Glock or any other handgun, but great for a quick line with a shotgun!
I tried them, doesn't work the same as on a shotgun. The "ghost ring" is just a "ring" on a pistol. The ring needs to be much closer to your eye than the front sight to really work right. They are incredible on a HD shotgun though.
