Anyone out there pick up one of these since Kimber went back to the internal extractor?
I've done some posting on one of the 1911 forums but they don't seem to have the traffic as Glocktalk.
Pretty much made the decision the TLE II is perfect for my first 1911; but I'd really like to hear some positive feedback before I jump into ownership. I purchased one of the first P22's and boy was that a mistake!
Appreciate anyone posting experiences with new Kimbers that have gone back to the internal extractor.
Thanks
I don't know about the new ones but I had a TLE II when they first came out and it was a great weapon. I fired several thousand trouble free rounds using Wilson mags. I should never have sold it.

I have a TLE/RL II w/ the EX extractor. Closing in on 2000 rounds pretty soon and never a single problem. I think Kimber, regardless of extractor design, makes a great gun. Sadly, they have problems like everyone else. Hopefully you will find that your Kimber will give you nothing but years of pleasant trips to the range.
Shoot safe.

I had one of the first ones with internal ones too. Great gun, and just like a previous poster, I regret trading it in. I hope to buy one again now that they have the internal extractor's again.
I have one of the first ones.
Switched to Wilson mags and have had no issues.
Did send it back to get the Kimpro finish.
Great pistol.

I have a TLE/RL II with the external extractor, it only has 750-1000 rounds through it, but there have been no extractor issues. I have had two fail to feeds and that's it.

dwestfall,
How did you know the extractor was not tensioned?
How hard was it to adjust the tension?
Thanks

Thanks for the link.
Holy chit, that sounds like a perfect way to end up saying oops, I screwed up my gun.
Hopefully by the time I get my Kimber, it won't be a problem.

I've had a Series I and a couple of Series IIs and a TLE with the EX extractor. No problems with any.
