That's how long Marty at Milt Sparks told me it would be for my new VersaMax 2 holster.
I'm hoping it is closer to the 10 weeks that ShortCut says he waited.
I'm getting the cordovan-colored horsehide with shark trim, like the one in ShortCut's pic in the Custom Grip thread. :)
<--- thinks ShortCut is the cool guy to copy.
;?
18 weeks ... jeeze louise, that's more than four months. It will be high summer by then. ;P
too bad about the wait, but you sure will like that holster, Scott. I've been carryiny a 1911 in one for the last three years or so, and for me it is by far the most comfortable IWB I've used.
Sounds like you need a CTAC to hold you over ;)

www.comp-tac.com You'll have a better holster in hand by the end of the week. Who wants dead horse skin holster anyway? :) :)
I'm mostly kidding although I do prefer kydex. My VM2 took forever, over 3 months I think, it was a nice enough holster but I traded it for a CTAC and couldn't be happier. Tony K will never see another dime of my money, but that is a forbidden subject here.;)

Yes Milt Sparks leather really is that good. $ for $!
I have bought from Lightening Arms before with some luck.
Craig and Audrey are really great folks. They will tell you that if they don't have what your want in stock, you will probably get it faster by going direct to Milt Sparks for it.
The guys at MS must really be swamped. The wait times a gradually getting longer. When I ordered my VMII about Christmas Marty quoted me 14-16 weeks. He also said that they are hiring at least one more guy to help in the shop.
Unfortunately small shops and hand made holsters with LOTS of orders
equals long wait times.
The wait hurts but its worth it....
I would go nuts waiting 18 weeks for a holster. I initially wanted a VM2 but then ran across "5Shot" on 1911forum. It seems like he is an up and coming holster maker. His turnaround time is 2 weeks and the price is VERY reasonable.
I'm giving him a shot..
Here's what I ordered (not mine pictured)

I borrowed a VersaMax2 from a member for two weeks and know what I want.
;?
BTW I already have a Comp-Tac and like it just fine for the Springfield...
...but the COLT deserves leather. ;)

If you toss anymore Glocks, toss them my way;f Can't go wrong with Milt Sparks. I just ordered another myself. I am going to check into that 5shot guy though. The way I am going through holsters, might as well give him a shot.
