A fella has to wonder if a company was to make a 1911 using the same materials and processes and using the same specs as Glock does would it sell?
Come back to earth, friend......you are waaaaay out there.....;z

I'm not sure if you got the intent or not??
Glock-o-philes whine about the high cost of an all steel 1911 and in the same breath praise the plastic and sheet metal glock for being cheaper.
A quality 1911 is expensive to produce due to all of the machine work that is required.

sounds interesting. SOMEONE would buy it. I can see the marketing copy now:
"The design genius of John Browning's 1911; the manufacturing genius of Gaston's Glock!"

As hard as I try I just can't see them doing it. The imagination at Glock is pretty much nonexistant. They make one gun in different sizes, and that's it.....well, and a shovel.
If they did make a 1911, it would probably just be a Glock frame and slide with 1911 controls, grip safety and hammer...and it wouldn't look much like a 1911. ;)
I'm thinking their long rumored carbine will just be one of those carbine uppers with a Glock handgun frame....like the 1911 carbine uppers that are available.

Glock, Inc. would not make it. The OP wondered if someone else ever would.

Actually I wonder , if it were made would it sell.
Or, is the 1911/Glock hate just too great.
Wilson KZ is near the concept. I want one.

Wilson is coming out with a KZ in 9mm. Wish they sell it in Kalifornia.

Why wouldnt it sell? I'm thoroughly convinced that anything "new" will sell these days, given enough marketing push. Think about all the answers to non-existent questions that have sold so far in the firearms trade(including some of the "new" calibers).

I guess I am a strange bird or something.
The Glock / 1911 Hate Thing Just does not apply to me.
I don't fit in at all.
I like both of them, and shoot both of them.
I have a Rock Island 45, a SS Springfield 45, and a Glock 21=45
I also have Glocks in 40, & 9mm.
Is there something wrong with me?? I don't think so!!
I also have S&W & Ruger Revolvers.

I don't hate Glocks either. I actually like my G36.
I do have an undeniable fondness for the 1911 though.
The KZ doesn't exactly fit into my idea either. It costs way over a grand.
I thinking more along the lines of the price of n ordinary Glock.
