(thread recycle!) ;)
I still don't know why my local guy couldn't get in a Glock with factory night sights, so I just got one with plain sights and later got in some orange and green Meprolight sights from TopGlock. They were on a backorder when I placed the order, but when they arrived I had them in a few days. To be safe I took 'em to the (only, and BUSY!) local gunsmith who got them on for me pretty fast. I got the call back today that it was ready!
They are nice, and I quickly tried the gun out when I got home - still spot-on. Of course they are NIGHT sights, so I took the gun out tonight to see how they do after dark. At the moment it's warm but windy, and slightly overcast with a half-moon. Seems like a perfect aplication for the Meps - it's bright enough to be able to make out most details of things outside, but the pale orange dots and brighter green dot stand out very well against my gun, making them easy to see.
