Which is the better gun? Better choice? Can you help me breakdown this dilemma.
I own a Springfield TRP, Glock 23, S&W 340PD, and a host of revolvers.
I'm thinking Kimber unless there is good reason to shy away.

Kimber Custom CDP II or the Kimber TLE II.
Less exspensive, still all the Kimber .45 youd get with those two.

When you answer that, you might have a better idea of what is right for you. And I suspect that with you, as with me and the rest of the world, our needs and our wants run together sometimes.
How important is the light rail to you?
How important is the unique detailing of the Raptor to you?
Is it a carry gun, target range gun, competition gun, or home defense gun?
FWIW, neither appeal to me. I like the dark Warrior's finish better than the Desert version. The Raptor looks like it's trying to imitate Ed Brown's snake skin patten. I'd rather see them bobtail a gun.
Good shopping & good shooting!

I personally think the Desert Warrior is butt ugly w/ that color. Get a standard warrior.

+1
I am not big on tan guns.
Black and silver are still the 2 best gun colors. Okay maybe also Colt's "Royal Blue", but that is it.
I'd go for the Desert Warrior.
I guess I just like ugly guns! ;Q

It's just an opinion. I never said don't buy it because it's tan. I just said I don't like tan guns. He asked for our opinons and we gave 'em.
epsylum.... just messin' with ya! ;)
I always tend to like the odd models.
I fell in love with the Desert Warrior when I saw a picture in a magazine. Then I saw one at the gun shop...........
The think looked like it was finished with Krylon.
bakjr, not slamming your gun, I'm hoping it was just that particular one at the gun shop.

I've seen em up close before too. I think the finish color is horrible myself. I would never buy one.

Does the Warrior (and Desert Warrior) have the internal or external extractor? Do they have the firing pin block?
I believe all the Warrior's including the Desert Warrior have internal extractors. Mine is internal.
I'm not sure on the firing pin block.

All the Kimbers now have internal extractors. They went back to it for 2006. If ya find one w/ an external, it is old stock.
I did shoot both of these Kimbers and i think the Grand Raptor is more accurate than the Desert Warrior. In addition the sight of the G.Raptor is adjustable with Tritium outline, then the flat top profile of the G.Raptor helps to acquire and see the target better.Kimber TLE, Desert Warrior, Grand Raptor, Caspian 45 acp (still building) G#19,G#34,H&K USP Tactical 45acp and Berreta ENOS 22LR
I would get the new Grand Raptor with internal extractor if there is one.

I dont know. I like the Desert Warrior myself. seems like a gun you wouldnt mind scuffing up a bit. I think that would even make it look better!

Anyone know if they (Warrior and Desert Warrior) have a firing pin block?

No. Warrior / Desert Warrior employs series 1 safety. That means no firing pin block.

I wonder what a good deal would be on a desert warrior? 900ish?

I've seen it from $950 - $1050

The dealer had it listed at $1049 OTD.
I traded a Ultra Carry II and a RIA Officers model for it in which he gave me $1049 in credit. I'm sure I could have gotten him down to around $950 OTD with a cash only deal, but I was happy with the trade.
